I hope everyone enjoys and fel free to drop comments ect.^^\n\nPosted using PostyBirb","content":"The Strawberry thief  \n  \n  \nOnce again summer has arrived,  \nThe air was thick with pollen and insect cries.  \nPerching on the fence, I spread my wings,  \nBathing myself in the sun's warm rays.  \nI do this for minutes, hours, possibly more,  \nWaiting for this three-legged old giant,  \nStumbling, to move on.  \nSummer is the best time for me as the strawberry,  \nPlump and red,  \nSweeter than nectar when it arrives in the mid-July bloom.  \nI hop and flutter across the rocky ground to those berries,  \nSeeing the mixture of dwarf green and bold red fruit.  \nNo manners are needed as I start to peck the seeds,  \nTeasing that soft flesh as the juice flowed into my beak.  \nOh yes! This magnificent taste!  \nI peck off more, defacing the perfect skin of these berries fair,  \nThe sweet redness staining my chocolatey feathers.  \nI peck more and more,  \nHearing that dragging of a window being open.  \nThe giant has come back! Shushing me away!  \nI couldn't help but take one last peck,  \nSpreading my wings and fluttering in the sky.  \nFree as he can't reach me, must he try.  \nYes, oh yes!  \nTomorrow we shall return!  \nThe flock will enjoy the fruits of the labour of giants of this world.  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poetry","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1991960-ready-for-a-new-life-drone-poem.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/2075221-cassette-poem.json"}}
