Just the mood I've been feeling lately, not my best work by far, but something I needed to say in my own way...

_ **The Darkness** _

_Still darkness creeps into the heart_

_Of an empty soul alone_

_Edges of sharp veins in a hearth_

_To drive deeper the pain_

_Voices of songs past sing_

_Of joy and radiance beyond_

_Of a life without worry or strife_

_Where the nesting soul may rest_

_Timid is the sound of love_

_To be touched by the hand_

_Of a warm embrace_

_Only darkness remains_

_Where hope had reigned_

_So to did the mighty fields_

_Grasslands fitting for the noble_

_And tainted by the dreaded_

_Alone is the path of the wondering_

_Without a guiding light back home_

_For the fields no longer live_

_And all that remains are the lost_

_Inscribed on the stone are words of truth_

_Speaking of the journey set before the soul_

_In them is the only wisdom shared_

_To embrace the darkness_
