Part one of my upload for this month as I had a bit of a rough patch last month. Poem today and a story in the next few! Hope you enjoy as I really do love old media, like cassettes.\n\nFeel free to leave a comment!\n\nPosted using PostyBirb","content":"Cassette  \n  \nYou pick the plastic square up,  \nand thought it impossible  \nhow your parents used to listen  \nto these.  \nHow treasured songs,  \nPromises of love,  \nWere stored on something so cheap.  \nWhat was so special about this player,  \nThis flimsy music box kept for decades?  \n  \nYou fumbled and pried the door,  \nFumbling with the tape,  \nThe cassette, until it slides in.  \nPressing play, nothing happened.  \nOf course! Batteries!  \n  \nNo charging here.  \nTaking some from the remote,  \nYou try again. Hearing the  \nMotor sputtering to life  \nAnd gears whirled,  \nFading into a queen's perfect voice.  \n  \nEntranced: you sit and listen,  \nThe small crackling drawing you in,  \nThe imperfections make it true.  \nYou focus and let the passing phone dings,  \nPass by.  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poetry","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/2047447-the-strawberry-thief.json"}}
