It was my fault, and I wrote it the day after as a lamentation and perhaps even a penance of sorts. We've since sorted things out.","content":"If I could turn back time,  \nI'd erase the words I said,  \nIf I could just rewind,  \nAnd take the dark thoughts from your head,  \n  \nI want to turn back time,  \nAnd right the wrongs I've made,  \nBut life is a straight line,  \nAnd this is the path I've laid,  \n  \nPlease don't think you failed,  \nBecause nothing was your fault,  \nAnd I was never leaving you,  \nBecause yours in the name I exalt,  \n  \nBut I made a mistake,  \nFor I'm just a humble man,  \nI didn't mean to cause you heartache,  \nThat was never part of the plan,  \n  \nI should've known this would happen,  \nAnd now I pray night and day,  \nThat I can salvage the wreckage,  \nThat loss isn't the price I pay,  \n  \nAnd if I could earn your trust,  \nI would never lose it again,  \nAnd if you would please come back,  \nI would eternally be your friend,  \n  \nBut there is so much more,  \nThat I want from this life,  \nIt's everything we had before,  \nA partner to weather the strife,  \n  \nI know you don't believe,  \nThat I'm sincere in my heart,  \nBut I will say this to you now,  \nI never wanted us to part,  \n  \nThe darkness that you feel,  \nMost of it's inside your head,  \nBecause the thought of hurting you,  \nWell, I'd rather I was dead,  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; Though you may not trust me now,  \nAnd I wouldn't blame you there,  \nI hope you trust these words,  \nYou are always in my prayers,  \n  \nAnd if you can forgive,  \nI'll do whatever I can do,  \nTo prove that I'm sincere,  \nBecause I never meant to hurt you,  \n  \nSo with a heavy heart,  \nI sing my lonely song,  \nAnd I'm wishing day and night,  \nTo have everything that's gone.   \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poetry","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1846321-dictated-from-the-heart.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/2144663-light-in-the-darkness.json"}}
