One of two I posted on the same day a while back. I can't remember exactly what was happening then but I know the feelings I get from this poem still. Bueno

There's a polar bear on an ice floe which is casually floating along on its way

To him it feels like he's been adrift for a lifetime now

Floating for a frankly hazy at this point number of days

He's not really sure where he's trying to float or what he's doing yet lacks worry on his brow

The bear will continue and intends to float on this ice as long as the waters allow

With its strong swimming ability and the so far steadiness of the floe

It's highly unlikely he bears' end will come in these waters from sinking below

Still the bear remains cautious perhaps too much so

It thinks now of the other polar bears and creatures that have passed it by

Maybe that's why it's on this current path

It's trying to catch up as well as find land that's truly stable and dry

Though many have passed the floating bear partially by the math there's still some around

Those who also fell behind and those just moving at a close enough speed to his own to be found

The bear sometimes slows down or stops to chat and spend time with those who'd do the same

This helps it feel better on its isolated and unpredictable journey

Makes it feel less lonely and puts the polar bear in a better mind frame

Still there's only so much time others even if they're familiar can give which applies to him too

Ultimately his own energy levels and circumstances leave him alone often

Alone and feeling a little blue

More often than he'd like but this is his journey and he knew he'd be leaving some behind

He just hopes they remember him well and see that he tries to be good and kind

In the meantime all he can do is continue on this uncertain journey through the waters, adrift in ice and snow

Hoping one day his paws can find more solid ice or ground as he continues to be lead by the flow

"}
