Sunny walked up beside him and tapped his talons with hers.

“Are you sure you're okay? You've been acting strange lately."

“It's just a headache, nothing to worry about." He shooed her back as he set another scroll on a shelf behind her.

Sunny sat back, and sighed, wondering if this was about her.

“We got a message back from Blue and Cricket." Starflight told her.

“Oh? What is it?"

“The council, along with Hazel and Sequoia, have decided to send five dragonets of each tribe here."

“Fifteen more dragonets? That's going to be interesting."

_We have to start preparing_, _we need to set up silk hammocks for the Silkwings, some sort of elevated platform for the Leafwings, an I don't know what for the Hivewings._ Sunny thought. _And what does everybody eat?_ She heard a thump behind her and waved the thought off, it was probably Starflight bumping into something, but when she turned back to him, she saw him on the ground, writhing in pain.

“Starflight?" Sunny called, and rushed to his side.

One of the Skywing dragonets rushed out to get help, Sunny grabbed Starflight and pinned him to the floor. He groaned and called out her name.

“Starflight! I'm here, what's wrong?" Sunny called to him.

Starflight gasped and fell back, Sunny noticed he wasn't breathing and rushed forward to start pushing on his chest.

“Starflight! Stay with me!" She called.

Starflight gasped again and he arched his head up.

_“Find the Guardian_

_Find the Healer_

_He is the light and the dark_

_The king of kings_

_Of a tribe more powerful than any other_

_ _

_His statue lies frozen_

_In a land of ice_

_Break it and free him_

_Bringer of sun,_

_Find the Guardian_

_ _

_He is the one that can use magic beyond any other_

_There are few limits to his power_

_ _

_Heal the Night_

_Tame the Fire_

_Save the Rain_

_Free the Sea_

_ _

_Find the Titans"_

Starflight repeat the last line several times before passing out again. Sunny sat back with a sigh, thankful that he was breathing again. Something deep in her heart had been brought out at the thought of him dying, and it made her feel scared, and impossibly alone without him. She didn't have time to think deeply on these thoughts before Clay rushed into the room and up to Starflight.

“What happened?"

“I think… I think he had a prophecy." Sunny replied

Starflight groaned and felt around. “Clay? Sunny? What's going on?"

“You had a prophecy." Clay told him.

“It nearly killed you." Sunny added.

Tsunami rushed into the library and looked down at Starflight.

“You scared me!" She gasped. “Citrine said you were dying."

“I think he was." Sunny told her. “He stopped breathing, then he had a prophecy."

Tsunami froze, and looked over at Sunny. “What? How? Why?"

“I don't know. Starflight, out of every scroll you have ever read, have you ever heard mention of somebody called 'The Guardian'?"

Starflight thought for a moment. “Yes, there are a few mentions of him. He was the dragon who helped build the tribes after the scorching. Legends say he is immortal, and helped to protect many tribes from entering wars with each other. Why?"

“The prophecy said 'Find the Guardian.' It actually had instructions on how to find them, and where." Sunny replied.

“Where is he?" Clay asked.

“The Icewing kingdom, trapped, or imprisoned." Sunny replied. “And I think I'm meant to go find him."

“Oh, no." Tsunami cut in. “No more prophecies!"

“You said that two prophecies ago, and here we are." Clay replied.

“It also said a bunch of other stuff. 'Heal the night, tame the fire, save the rain, and free the sea. What would that mean?" Sunny added.

“Night could be Starflight, I'm the sea, and Glory is the rain? But who would be the fire?" Tsunami asked.

“Peril." Clay replied.

Everybody gasped at the realization.

“It does mean us." Starflight replied.

“It said bringer of sun, that's me. I think I need to go to the ice kingdom and find him." Sunny replied.

“Who's going to the ice kingdom?" Qibli asked, walking into the library.

“Nobody, not even you." Tsunami told Sunny.

Qibli looked down at Starflight. “Uhm, what happened?"

“I had a prophecy." Starflight mumbled, rubbing his forehead.

Qibli gasped. “Find the guardian?"

Everybody went silent and looked over at Qibli.

“Moon had the same one, she said something about death and destruction if we don't follow it."

“That's the same for every one." Tsunami groaned.

“When?" Starflight asked.

“Just now, I came to find you and ask you about a guardian." Qibli answered.

“I'm leaving tomorrow morning." Sunny stated. “This seems important if it almost killed Starflight."

Qibli gasped and looked over at Starflight, who nodded, and tried to get up. Sunny helped him, and the group walked out of the library. They were walking back to their quarters when Fatespeaker rushed up and nearly knocked them over.

“Starflight! Are you okay? I heard something happened, what happened?"

“I'm fine, don't worry, just a prophecy." Starflight told her.

Fatespeaker sighed, then jerked up again. “Wait? What?"

“I'll explain, he needs rest." Clay led her away, but she kept shooting worried looks back at them.

Tsunami walked them to Starflight's cave and he let go of Sunny and stumbled inside.

“You should stay with him." Tsunami told her. “Make sure he's okay, I have some work to get done."

Sunny nodded, and walked into Starflights room. His desk was filled with the his and Tamarin's project. They were trying to figure out a way for blind dragons to read.

“You shouldn't go, I don't want you to go." Starflight told her.

“It said 'heal the night,' That could mean that there is something wrong with you." Sunny replied. “But that could also mean your eyesight. If there is a possibility that you can see again, I will try my hardest to make it happen."

Starflight gasped slightly, and turned his head toward her. She could see the surprise on his face, as if he hadn't thought she would do something like that for him. She noticed his wings perk up for a second, then droop back down. _What was that about?_

“You don't have to do something like that for me." Starflight replied.

“Of course I do." Sunny replied

Qibli snuck into the cave and glanced around.

“Your not really supposed to be in here Qibli." Sunny told him.

“I snuck in to give you something." He told her.

He handed her a pearl bracelet, she took it and examined it closely.

“What is this?" Sunny asked.

“Anemone made it a while back. It's a bracelet that allows you to fully turn into any tribe of dragon you want. Don't worry, you fully remain you, and the only things that change is that you fully understand the workings of the tribe you become." Qibli explained.

“What is it for?" Sunny replied

“So you can get to the ice kingdom. This will get you past the Great Cliff, and will hide you from other Icewings. It will also protect you from the cold."

Sunny turned the bracelet over, and slowly put it on.

“Nothing will happen until you hold the bracelet and say 'I want to be an Icewing.' Then the bracelet can only be seen and touched by you." Qibli added.

Sunny looked up. “Won't Anemone miss this?"

Qibli smiled. “I used Turtle's bowl, and I made one for myself too, just in case."

Sunny frowned. “I don't know how I feel about you having an animus touched object like that."

Qibli chuckled. “Really, that is so interesting."

He flicked his earring, and Sunny rolled her eyes.

“Nevermind." Sunny sighed. “Thank you"

Qibli nodded and walked out of the cave.

Starflight settled into his sleeping area with a sigh, and set his head on his front paws. Sunny curled up on the floor not far from him and looked over at him with worry. _Is this a seer thing? Or could there be another thing going on? Is he sick?_ Sunny hoped that he was okay, and that being born on a brightest night might have caused what happened. She felt her eyes close shut and slowly fell asleep.

Sunny woke up to a strange noise in front of her. It was so dark that she couldn't see. There were no lanterns in Starflight's room for obvious reasons, and she looked around to locate the noise. She jumped slightly when she realized it was coming from Starflight. _Is he crying?_ She thought as she heard his sniffs and sobs. _He is!_ She gasped and rushed up to him.

“Starflight?"

She felt him jump and stifle a gasp.

“I'm sorry, I forgot you were here." He sniffed.

“What's wrong? Are you okay? Are you in pain?"

“No, I'm fine, you can go to your cave, don't worry about me."

“I'm worried now, were you crying?"

“…No"

“It sounded like you were."

“I wasn't"

“It's okay, just tell me what's wrong. Did Fatespeaker hurt you?"

Starflight chuckled. “She didn't"

“Who did?"

“Sunny, no. I don't want to talk about this right now."

Sunny gripped harder against him and growled. “WHO"

Starflight froze, and sighed, defeated. “You did."

Sunny felt as if she had been stabbed directly in the heart. “What?"

“It's not your fault… If you don't love me back, what can I do?" He added

She released him and he leaned back onto the floor. She stepped back and stared into the darkness. _This was me? I'm the cause of why he seems sad lately? Why hasn't he gotten over me? Will he ever?_

“What about Fatespeaker?"

“I am trying it with her, but I don't think I can love anybody but you Sunny. But don't be held back by me, do what you want." Starflight replied. “I don't want to be the reason holding you from somebody… else."

Sunny could practically feel his shudder at the thought.

“But… I…" Sunny stuttered.

“I don't think you should go to the Ice kingdom because I don't want you to get hurt. But I can't help but wish to see again, and I want the first person I see to be you. But the rest of me would rather never see again then you get hurt. I also am still doubtful on using animus magic on me, and I would have to fully understand what they were doing and fully trust them before I accept." Starflight told her.

Sunny nodded. “But I'm going, now, for you."

She walked over to him and rubbed her snout against his. Then walked out of the cave. _I can't believe I did that to him._ She shook her head, and walked over to Tsunami's cave.

“Hey, Tsunami. You up?"

There was a groan, and some shuffling.

“Sunny? What's up?" Tsunami's voice replied.

“I'm leaving now." Sunny told her. “I wanted to ask you if you could keep an eye on Starflight while I'm gone."

There was some more shuffling, and Tsunami poked her head out of the cave entrance.

“Wait, I still don't think you should leave. How are you going to make it into the ice kingdom?"

“I have a way." Sunny told her. “I'll be back soon, don't worry. I made it all the way through the sand kingdom by myself, remember?"

Tsunami hugged Sunny, and eventually let go. “I remember."

Sunny walked out of the academy and took flight, the moons were out, and they were shining brightly on her surroundings. _I should check in with my mom first, before I rush into the ice kingdom._ She smiled as she angled herself towards the kingdom of sand.

After a few long hours of flying, the sun had risen and she had made it to Thorn's palace. The guards recognized her and let her in, but they made her wait in the throne room for the queen to wake up. After a few minutes of sitting around, Thorn burst into the room and hugged Sunny.

“My guards were supposed to bring you to me, sorry." She smiled at her daughter.

“It's okay, I was just passing by." Sunny told her.

“Where you off too?"

“The ice kingdom, on a secret mission disguised as an icewing using animus magic."

“What?" Thorn recoiled.

“Just wanted to say hi while I was in the area, but I want to be deep in the ice kingdom by tonight." Sunny replied.

“By yourself?"

“This is something I need to do alone, everybody else has important duties." Sunny told her.

“What could you possibly have to do?"

“I need to find someone, and wake him." Sunny explained.

“Who?"

“Somebody known as the Ultimate Guardian."

One of the guards stifled a gasp, but Thorn didn't miss his reaction.

“What do you know of him?" She asked.

“Sorry, your majesty. It's only a dragonets tale from when I was young."

“So was Darkstalker, continue."

“The Ultimate Guardian was the one who gave our entire species animus magic. He helped build the tribes we know now, and he also is the one who destroyed the final scavenger, human sorry, nests. The legends say his body is hidden somewhere on this continent, but he still watches us and is among us by becoming one of us and staying in a tribe for a few hundred years at a time." The guard explained.

Thorn nodded. “You're going to find him?"

“Don't tell the other queens, Starflight had a prophecy, and it nearly killed him."

“Is he okay?"

“I hope, but I don't know. Part of the prophecy was to 'heal the night' so I hope that means that the guardian can heal whatever is happening with Starflight."

“So, you're doing this for him?"

“There was a bunch of other random stuff, but yes."

Thorn sighed and smiled at her. “You really care about him, don't you?"

Sunny blushed, but couldn't figure out why. “Of course, he's my friend."

“Is he? Is he really?"

Smolder walked into the throne room, brushed his wing with Thorn's, and walked out of the building.

Thorn turned back to her daughter. “Oh, good news; were getting married."

Sunny smiled brightly, and hugged her mother again. “Congrats, can't wait to be there."

Thorn smiled. “But were getting off topic. Why couldn't you just send Winter? Why does it have to be you?"

“It said 'bringer of sun' that means me." Sunny told her.

“Fine, I know I can't stop you, but we will be chatting more about that nightwing later."

Sunny nodded, and hugged her mom for the last time. Thorn sighed as Sunny walked out of the throne room. She noticed Smolder motioning to her and walked over to him.

“Hey." She greeted him.

“Hi, your mother looks worried." Smolder told her.

“Yeah, I have to go do something dangerous, but everything will be fine." Sunny replied.

“You better be fine, or your mother will be very mad." Smolder chuckled.

“I heard about the engagement."

Smolder smiled. “And?"

“And I'm happy for you."

Smolder let out a breath, and nodded.

“What? Did you think I would be mad or something?"

“No, but we had a whole thing where I imprisoned you, and betrayed you, twice."

“It's okay, I forgive you."

“I never really got a chance to say I was sorry, but I really am."

“It's okay, and I can't wait to be there at your wedding."

Smolder nodded again, and backed away. “Be safe."

Sunny chuckled. “Not really an option for me, I radiate danger."

Smolder laughed as Sunny flew off. The sun was warm on her back as she flew across the hot desert. She periodically landed on every oasis she found, took a quick drink and rest, then continued. As the sun started to touch the horizon, she approached the ice cliff. The cold had already sunk deep into her bones, and she was shivering. Sunny pulled the bracelet out of a pouch, and put it on, she grasped it and told it she wanted to be an icewing. Suddenly, she didn't feel cold anymore, and she looked up and down her body. She was a light blue icewing, dotted with sparkles and small blue scales. She actually felt slightly warm, and worried about if anybody will think she looked odd or something. She kept flying, and flew directly over the broken cliff without any issue. Sunny gasped as the vast expanse of the ice kingdom entered her view.
