# Collision with Previously Blown Off Steam

A poem about blowing off steam and sometimes that steam comes back or never really left. Just something that I was thinking about a while back and had been dealing with, a steam cycle. This is a poem I still think about now and then. Originally posted in April 2022.

You never really expect to run into the steam you blew off in the past

Steam is supposed to be something that comes and goes not something that actually lasts

But sometimes it will linger when the environment for it is just right

When that happens it doesn't really go away but stays around merely out of front facing sight

When that happens as new steam builds and there's preparation to billow out some more

You bump right into the reheated steam from before

Not as hot as it would have been if it was fresh but still not a pleasant experience regardless

Knowing when you'll collide into this past steam is difficult to say though for steam is chartless

It can be interesting and bittersweet to run into though

For steam when blown off can take many shapes and vary wildly in how it looks if you didn't already know

There is both a sense of satisfaction and annoyance as it surrounds you getting in the way

Present melding and floating around with the past as you struggle to keep either at bay

Steam can take many forms as mentioned but sometimes it's best to just leave it be

You already put it out there to linger on past your initial feelings

It'll be there to look back on and let it go on as you sit back and let yourself try to be free
