You wouldn't be\u0026nbsp;to be able to maintain\u0026nbsp;it with him if you tried, Kibs - and sooner or later, problems are going\u0026nbsp;to surface in the relationship that neither of you are going to know how to fix.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"And since when were you an expert in regards relationships?\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"I'm an expert in regards to\u0026nbsp;_you_. He stared at her. \"What happened to you telling me to '_put myself out there'_?\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"Yeah, well, that was before I knew your taste in dogs.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\nHe forced out a breath through his nose, continuing their walk. \"Thanks for your faith in in my judgement,\" he said sarcastically, glancing left and right on their trail, looking for something.\u0026nbsp;\n\nMari followed his eyes as they continued. \"You gonna tell me why we're out here now?\"\u0026nbsp;\n\nHe let out a forced laugh. \"No. I don't think you'll like what we're doing out here.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"Bitch, you better tell me.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"_No._ You're literally going to stop me from doing it.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\nShe blinked. \"...Does it have something to do with him?\"\u0026nbsp;\n\nHe went silent.\u0026nbsp;\n\nMari cursed under her breath. \"Kibs - what are we doing?\"\u0026nbsp;\n\nKibs let\u0026nbsp;out a gasp, his tail starting up in a wag as he noticed something off in the distance to his right. \"There!\" He exclaimed, running off into the trees.\u0026nbsp;\n\nMari paused, furrowing her brows. \"There what?\" She asked, lifting her head as to not lose sight of him.\u0026nbsp;\n\nKibs didn't go very far - he leaned down and plucked something from the ground, bouncing back to Mari happily.\u0026nbsp;\n\nMari stared at him, shaking her head. \"Are you kidding me?\" She asked him as she looked down at the dandelion held in his maw.\u0026nbsp;\n\nKibs gave her a wide smile, tail wagging. \"Ish perfect foh 'em, isn't it?\" He asked, beaming.\u0026nbsp;\n\nMari gave him a blank stare. \"You really want to hear what I have to say?\"\u0026nbsp;\n\nKibs' smile faded. \"...No.\" He turned away from her. \"I don't know why I ask you anything, ever.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"Neither do I,\" she said with an eye roll, \"because clearly you never care enough to actually listen.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"I\u0026nbsp;_do_ care - all your advice is just-\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"Not what you want to hear?\"\n\nHe went silent again.\u0026nbsp;\n\nMari shook her head. \"I just hope you don't get yourself hurt, Kibs.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\nHe glanced at her. \"...I won't.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"You don't know that.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"...But you do?\"\u0026nbsp;\n\nIt was her turn to go quiet now. \"...No.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"Okay, so... let me find out.\u0026nbsp;_Please_, Mari. I told you what I needed to, and if you still want to try and get with this dog, that's on you.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe two walked in silence for a moment; Kibs lowered his head, his ears lowering as well. Mari glanced at him, her face softening. She took a breath, licking her lips. \"You mean a lot to me, Kibs. That's the only reason I'm saying all of this.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"...I know.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"And I just don't want you to get hurt.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"I know.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"And I want you to realize and understand that you deserve\u0026nbsp;_better_.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\nKibs didn't respond to that.\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"...Just,\" she continued, \"don't get carried away. Okay?\"\u0026nbsp;\n\nHe looked back at her, a solemn look in his eyes. \"...Okay.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"And when things\u0026nbsp;_do_ get bad - remember - you're stuck with me. I say\u0026nbsp;_three days_.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"WHAT?!\" He yelled with a laugh. \"Literally what could happen in three days time that would warrant\u0026nbsp;us breaking up?\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"A lot of things,\" she continued as the two walked off, their voices growing more and more distant.\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"Like what?\" Kibs asked\u0026nbsp;back as they stepped into the trees.\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"Well... he'll probably realize just how annoying you are and will probably-\" their voices cut off as they vanished from sight, butterflies fluttering in the trees overhead.\u0026nbsp;"}
