Memory lane took my breath away

I saw again, where I shouldn’t stay

  

All in the dust, many now lay in rest

It wasn’t all bad, but I barely think I passed that test

  

A younger broken me stood where shadows hide

I lived back then for twisted delusional pride

  

Stories half-true were told

The hole being dug, was foolishly bold

  

Another dream buried, when held half-hearted

The ending was always known, but still started

  

It ended in flames & misunderstanding

The reality was heavy, but never really demanding 

  

I lived once more, but barely at the end

For a short while, I was a mirror front shown friend

  

Better, only after so many were emotionally mentally buried in place

I sadly, don’t clearly even remember each face

  

Doing good, & better for others, every day

That’s now, my chosen way
