# When Camouflage Is Needed

New poem! It’s been a little while but I’ve finished something new. I wanted to give some sort of reassuring reminder in poetry form and after a few reworkings I think I got it.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; **By: A.X. Bueno**

 

 

In difficult times it can be hard to figure out what to do&nbsp;

 

Where to go

 

It can all overwhelm&nbsp;

 

Make you question how often your hands are truly at the helm

 

As you navigate how much you should stand out&nbsp;

 

Or how much you should stay in the background and blend in

 

It can be hard to feel like you're constantly struggling&nbsp;

 

Struggling to survive

 

To have some sense of peace&nbsp;

 

To feel like what you're doing matters&nbsp;

 

To actually know when you are or will be heard&nbsp;

 

And knowing when you don't have to say a single word

 

Not every battle has to be yours to win

 

Or even be an active part of&nbsp;

 

Inaction is always a decision

 

But doesn't always have to be considered some horrible sin&nbsp;

 

It's a matter of acknowledging&nbsp;

 

When it's worth speaking up or fighting and when it's not

 

For sometimes it's better to stay camouflaged&nbsp;

 

Instead of in unnecessary and unwinnable arguments getting caught

 

Know yourself and your associates well enough&nbsp;

 

Enough to trust what you're doing isn't purely out of worry or fear

 

You just know it's better to be concealed now&nbsp;

 

So you don't waste energies that are best spent on other things

 

That you'd rather be doing with the rest of your year&nbsp;
