In first place

I gave all to the race

Didn’t end well, but here I am, still alive

The water was shallow, but I took a dive 

It ended as expected

My heart was infected

Beyond medications 

I tried beyond hesitations

What’s left is ruins of what never took place

Now, I only see blurry our story, without a trace

It’s worth life, & more of a heavy sum

Feelings faded, now just left numb

It’s always been enough for me

I knows, what will be will be
