# There’s Still Space For Lambs

So I’ve been distracted lately and let myself develop a small backlog of poetry and maybe a piece of art or two. Figured it’s past time I got around to posting it so this was a poem meant for Easter… posted in May but it’s still relevant even if the day it was meant for passed a while ago already. Some religious themes but a pretty general message.

There's Still Space For Lambs

 

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;By: A.X. Today marks a special day&nbsp;

 

The day that marks the resurrection of a lamb

 

That was also a man&nbsp;

 

The lamb of god as they've said&nbsp;

 

3 days dead&nbsp;

 

He healed the sick&nbsp;

 

Cured the blind&nbsp;

 

Accepted any he happened to come across and find&nbsp;

 

He aspired to both be and teach others to be loving and kind&nbsp;

 

To be a source and way of salvation&nbsp;

 

That said I don't want any conflation&nbsp;

 

This is merely preamble and saying what's been said before&nbsp;

 

Establishing who this lamb was before going to talk about more

 

To talk about two versions of the holiday happening on the same day&nbsp;

 

Orthodox and the other denominations as well&nbsp;

 

A rare coincidence to not let slip away&nbsp;

 

Without considering what good connections could quell&nbsp;

 

In a world where cruelty is abundant and kindness a harder sell&nbsp;

 

Where people want to run things and be alphas without grasping

 

What that all really means so they make clumsy power grabs to leave us gasping&nbsp;

 

And so many feel the ugly parts of themselves aren't worth masking&nbsp;

 

So in this time I wouldn't mind seeing less&nbsp;

 

Less faulty interpretations of what lone wolves and lions are like

 

I don't think you even need to be a believer to acquiesce&nbsp;

 

That there are too many people on edge and willing to flat out strike&nbsp;

 

In times like these a few more lambs are not something I'd mind&nbsp;

 

I think kindness, love and acceptance are values I'd like more to find&nbsp;

 

And that is why I say&nbsp;

 

There should still be space for lambs especially on days like today&nbsp;
