Black Dog looks at this figure and gives him a voice, letting him bark back at a society that's already made up its mind about him.","content":"He's a getaway vehicle\n\n \n\ntethered at the curb\n\n \n\nloaded\n\n \n\nchambered\n\n \n\non someone else's word\n\n \n\nsidelined spectator\u0026nbsp;\n\n \n\na non-participant\u0026nbsp;\n\n \n\nto the greatest heist in history\n\n \n\nwatching them be wolves\n\n \n\nand run circles round the herd until\n\n \n\nthey tire of the sport\n\n \n\nand break away\n\n \n\nand set sights on somewhere new\n\n \n\nanywhere\n\n \n\naway from here.\n\n \n\nThe where\n\n \n\nthe how\n\n \n\nis the Black Dog's problem now\n\n \n\nall they know\n\n \n\nis he's not going fast enough.\n\n \n\nThe Black Dog, chafed from the ride,\n\n \n\ndreams of sitting his backside down in the dirt\n\n \n\nof rolling\n\n \n\nrubbing grass stains on their clean escape\n\n \n\nkicking the itch until it's dislodged.\n\n \n\nBut they hold up a magnet\n\n \n\nto his moral compass\n\n \n\nleaving him at the helm\n\n \n\nof someone else's life.","series":{"name":"Black Dog","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/2253738-the-black-dog-tries-to-meditate.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/2257727-black-dog-kintsugi.json"}}
