Black Dog looks at this figure and gives him a voice, letting him bark back at a society that's already made up its mind about him.","content":"He’s grown dull,\n\n \n\na dropped vessel,\n\n \n\nonly sharp around the edges where he’s meant to join,\n\n \n\nthe smashed cup whose pattern lost all meaning\n\n \n\nsince the crash.\n\n \n\nThe most beautiful thing about him\n\n \n\nwas the sound he made when, finally,\n\n \n\nhe shattered.\n\n \n\nThere’s no patience for a damaged thing,\n\n \n\nnot whole enough to hold anything in,\n\n \n\nand no value to knowing him\n\n \n\nin pieces.\n\n \n\nBut run gold through him,\n\n \n\nand see the cracks come alive, a hurt made precious.\n\n \n\neach tear and breakage rendered molten,\n\n \n\nmended and imperishable,\n\n \n\nuntil all he’s made of is a web\n\n \n\nof everything that ever made him\n\n \n\ncome apart.","series":{"name":"Black Dog","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/2255785-black-dog-escapism.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/2259962-the-black-dog-swallows-the-light.json"}}
