It were intended to be about World War One, but the feelings witch I try to express in the poem could be inserted into almost any man fighting in any war. I hope you´ll like it, and if so, please rate and comment.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\n**We Were Soldiers**\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nWe were soldiers going to war.\n\nWe were husbands with lovers left by the shore.\n\nWe were the sons of mothers who´d grieve us forever more.\n\nWe were soldiers going to war.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nWe were the men who fought for peace.\n\nWe fought for love and the swift summer breeze.\n\nWe were all men fighting for all that we cared for.\n\nWe were soldiers going to war.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nWe were fathers leaving our homes.\n\nThen we were trained to follow orders like drones.\n\nWe were some men not knowing what we were in for.\n\nWe were soldiers going to war.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nWe were soldiers marching to war.\n\nWe got ready for whatever they had in store.\n\nThen hell broke loose, bullets pierced the air with a roar.\n\nWe were soldiers fighting a war.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nWe were targets running around.\n\nWe got wounded when the grenades hit the ground.\n\nI felt blood ooze out of my bosoms core.\n\nWe were soldiers losing a war.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nWe were soldiers kissed by hot lead.\n\nWe were fathers, lovers and sons, but now we´re all dead.\n\nNo one of us will see our loved ones anymore.\n\nWe were soldiers lost in a war.\n\n  \n  \n\n"}
