{"sf1_id":236188,"sf2_id":"Welx6w5e","title":"Real Alchemy","author":"Tootall","words":607,"posted_at":"2011-04-01T05:31:00.000Z","tags":["Incomplete"],"url":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/236188-real-alchemy","original_url":"https://sofurry.com/s/Welx6w5e","image_url":"https://cdn.sofurryfiles.com/submissions/thumbnails/b7/9e/b79ef414-e248-412d-8e37-2b0770e5fcc8","description":"#1 of SCRAPS","content":"REAL ALCHEMY  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Alchemy, the power to convert one thing into another by breaking the item down into it's most basic of elements and reconstruct it as something else.\u0026nbsp; An early, unscientific form of chemistry that sought to change base metals into gold and discover a life-prolonging elixir, a universal cure for disease, and a universal solvent alkahest by the dictionary definition.\u0026nbsp; The process was very popular back in the medieval days.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;The only problem is the days of Alchemy have long since past.\u0026nbsp; From what I believe, the days of Alchemy were used back in the 16 to 1700 when it was most used.\u0026nbsp; Not much is known about Alchemy in the old days, other than it slowly started to become less and less used as real science took it's place.\u0026nbsp; Eventually Alchemy was stopped altogether and passed into folklore, then into legend.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;I was fascinated with it.\u0026nbsp; The power to break down one thing then reconstruct it as something else.\u0026nbsp; Buying every book I could find about the subject, but even with the few books that had some actual truth about the subject, it was usually in small amounts.\u0026nbsp; Throughout the years I compiled the information about Alchemy and I found out a little about how they did it back in the day.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Though I did find out the first part of the Alchemy process was easy to understand.\u0026nbsp; Knowing the makeup of the thing that your working with.\u0026nbsp; The second part was to brake the item down and I had no way of knowing how to do that.\u0026nbsp; The third part was to reconstruct the broken down item into something else.\u0026nbsp; It was just like writing a story and coming to a writers block.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Only in this case it was an Alchemy block.\u0026nbsp; Many times I thought about giving it all up, but then something in a new book or a flash of inspiration would put me back onto the track of breaking the second part of the process.\u0026nbsp; As well as my parents telling me to find something better to do with my time and living.\u0026nbsp; Then without warning as I was going to school one day, my science teacher taught us about the different reactions certain chemicals have with other chemicals.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;It was like a spark of inspiration by god himself.\u0026nbsp; After waiting until class let out, I started hounding my teacher about what he was teaching us.\u0026nbsp; Over the next few weeks he brought me as much information about that subject.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"Finally a breakthrough.\"\u0026nbsp; I said in excitement.\u0026nbsp; As my teacher handed over another few books about the subject of chemicals breaking down other chemicals.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"Are you still going on about Alchemy?\"\u0026nbsp; He asked me once I had all the books stuffed into my pack.\u0026nbsp; Turning to look at him he started to laugh with his hands on his sides.\u0026nbsp; \"So are you any closer to finally understanding Alchemy?\"\u0026nbsp; He asked after he was done laughing.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"Just like I said.\u0026nbsp; With this information, you've helped me to finally understand and work out the second step of the Alchemy process.\u0026nbsp; Maybe even the third as well.\" This seemed to take him back as his eyes went wide with shock.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"You mean that your serious about this?\"\u0026nbsp; Quickly zipping up my pack and slinging my pack over my back, I turned to him and gave him a thumbs up.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"You got that right.\u0026nbsp; And yes I am serious about what I said.\u0026nbsp; With this information and the proper items, I think I will be able to finally be able to do real Alchemy.\"\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"SCRAPS","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/236037-the-breeder.json"}}
