{"sf1_id":236431,"sf2_id":"P1Eod68m","title":"Death In The Time Bay: Part Three","author":"Pellicius","words":577,"posted_at":"2011-04-02T01:12:00.000Z","tags":["Gore","Mystery","Steam Punk","Timetravel","Violence"],"url":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/236431-death-in-the-time-bay-part-three","original_url":"https://sofurry.com/s/P1Eod68m","image_url":"https://cdn.sofurryfiles.com/submissions/thumbnails/00/d3/00d34a16-cb26-43b8-bf2a-cdf831fb426e","description":"","content":"DEATH IN THE TIME BAY: \u0026nbsp;PART THREE\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; The operator was the first to act, leaning forwards and pulling the badly hurt time traveler from the pile of corpses and limbs that surrounded him. \u0026nbsp;The time traveler was unconscious, his head lolling back and his mouth half open, still contorted in a grimace of pain. \u0026nbsp;\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; Scott took the time travelers' legs and helped the operator lower the wounded anthro to the marble floor, in the shadow of the Machine. \u0026nbsp;There was a bullet wound in his shin, and a thin slice in his upper stomach which wasn't bleeding badly, but was undoubtedly causing internal bleeding. \u0026nbsp;The operator took a rag from his overall's front pocket and pressed it against the time traveler's shattered shin.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; The pain made the time traveler snap back to consciousness, jerking his head upwards, Scott was barely able to catch him before he bashed his skull against the floor. \u0026nbsp;\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; That was when the first police officer walked into the building, his expression clam and reserved. \u0026nbsp;It changed nearly instantly upon viewing the blood and pile of dismembered time traveler's in the Machine. \u0026nbsp;\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"Help us, give us bandages!\" \u0026nbsp;Cried the fox, not bothering with politeness and etiquette. \u0026nbsp;The police officer fumbled at his belt for several agonizing seconds before tossing a roll of gauze to the fox, who tore off a long strip with his teeth and began to strap the rag into place. \u0026nbsp;Blood was still dripping from the time travelers' stomach injury and Scott pressed \u0026nbsp;wad of gauze against that as well, feeling the blood, as warm as a freshly poured cup of tea, cover his paws.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; Another police officer, a golden lion rushed forwards, politely ushering the fox aside. \u0026nbsp;His calm disposition spoke of countless hours saving lives. \u0026nbsp;After all police officers had to receive at least basic medical training to go onto the streets.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"Please move aside,\" he said mildly, the fox did as he said, scooting aside and handing him the roll of gauze, \"I have experience with gunshot wounds.\" \u0026nbsp;Scott realized that his paws were shaking, and that he was dangerously close to fainting. \u0026nbsp;He didn't like blood, didn't much like death either, even if it was quiet and painless. \u0026nbsp;\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; Within seconds several other police officers had arrived, bearing a stretcher, which they set down next to the wounded time traveler, who was constantly drifting in and out of consciousness, mumbling indecipherable phrases as he did so. \u0026nbsp;Scott got up and leaned against the side of the Machine, just in an effort to keep his wildly wobbly knees beneath him. \u0026nbsp;The officers loaded the wounded time traveler aboard the stretcher and double timed it out of the Time Bay. \u0026nbsp;The lion turned towards Scott, his expression calm as he wiped the blood from his paws.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"Name, please.\" \u0026nbsp;Scott remained quiet for a few seconds, before finally finding his voice.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"Scott Pendleton, sir.\" \u0026nbsp;The officer nodded and beckoned for Scott to follow him, ahead of him, he saw the fox departing with the other remaining police officer.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"You are being kept as a witness, you may call your family if you wish.\" \u0026nbsp;Said the officer, then began walking briskly out of the Time Bay. \u0026nbsp;Scott struggled to keep up with him, wondering what all of this could mean.\n\nTO BE CONTINUED IN PART FOUR...\n\n  \n  \n\n"}
