"Well, everyone pack your bags! Were moving to Alaska!" The news was devastating. My family and I are moving to ALASKA! From TEXAS! I have to leave all my friends, teachers, and everyone else, behind. My mom says it will be good to get to some new places, but I don't agree. Why would a Fox, not even an artic fox, be living in Alaska? Not what I wanted.

"It will be good for you, Lucas. Your hanging with a bad crowd.", my mom had said. My friends have never even gotten in trouble, or had anything below a B+. But, you can't convince her anything. So, in the car I go, and wave goodbye. I yell out the window, "Love you all!", then we pull away. Though I know I will probaly see some of them again, I bust into tears as we pull away. My head in my paws, we leave Boston, and take the long, driven journy, to Alaska.

I wake up from crying myself to sleep in the back seat, to the sound of my cell phone ringing. I read the caller ID:Chris. I instantly answer.

     "Hey, Chris!", I say exitedly.

"Hey, Lucas", Chris said, his voice sounding like he had just finished sobbing. Chris and I had been tight ever since he came out of the closet, about a month after me. We hung out nearly every day, and he was the hardest to say goodbye to.

"Hey, man, you sound like you just got done crying, what's up?"

"Lucas....it's...my sister Sam. We just got a call from the police department. They say she was in an accident, and is hurt....bad. Oh, Lucas, I just don't know what to do!", he said, then once again started to cry. I felt tears pushing up against my eyes, for Sam had been so supportive of me and Chris's relationship since it started.

     "Chris, that's terrible!"

"I know...I hope she'll be Ok. Hey...I gotta go. We're going to see her in the hospital." Chris said, then hung up the phone.

"Lucas, who was that?", my mom asked.

"That was Chris...his sister Sam was in an accident. They say she's hurt badly.", I said, my heart sinking with every word.

"Well, that is bad news! But brighten up just a litlle, were in Alaska!" I looked out the window at the snow piled high. "Great", I thought, "The middle of winter, and in Alaska. Perfect." We pulled into a nearly covered drive, that was right next to a very beautiful house. I sat, apalled at it.

"It's...it's such a big house!" I exclaimed, gasping as I did so. I got out, and grabbed my bags. I stepped through the door....empty.

"Are we expected to sleep on the floor?" I turned, and saw a note on the door that read: "Movers will be here in 2 days". Two days, with no furniture. Another perfect thing.

:_Two Days later, movers just finsihed arranging the furniture_.: I went straight up to my room. There was a cozy little red bean bag chair, a cute little desk, with nothing but a picture and my cup of coffee from that morning. I picked up the picture. It was of me and Chris. I instantly felt tears rush to my eyes. I had to leave so abruptly...it's not right.

I sat in my little chair. My eyes were bloodshot from crying for nearly thirty minutes. I heard a knock, at what sounded like the front door. I wiped my eyes, which were still very red. I sulked down the stairs, thinking "what now, more movers with other useless things?" I turned the little glass doorknob, and opened the door. What I saw instantly took my breath away.
