{"sf1_id":242843,"sf2_id":"V1YDkYvn","title":"Existence: introduction","author":"madfire95","words":626,"posted_at":"2011-04-22T04:37:00.000Z","tags":["Human","Introduction","M/M","Story Series"],"url":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/242843-existence-introduction","original_url":"https://sofurry.com/s/V1YDkYvn","image_url":"https://www.sofurryfiles.com/std/thumb?page=242843\u0026ext=.jpg","description":"#1 of existence\n\nExistence: introductions.\nSeattle.  It's rainy, dark, gloomy and cold, a perfect place ...","content":"Existence:\u0026nbsp; Introduction.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nSeattle: \u0026nbsp;It's rainy, dark, gloomy and cold, a perfect place for Johnny Trevino. \u0026nbsp;Of course, it's not the only city he's been to. \u0026nbsp;Johnny was what they call a 'runner,' someone who is constantly switching between cities. \u0026nbsp;But out of all of the ones he's lived in, Seattle was his favourite. \u0026nbsp;All people have problems, but most people's problems didn't start the moment they were born. \u0026nbsp;Johnny's did. \u0026nbsp;He's a full-blooded human, the only human born to planet Earth in the past 72 years, and that's why he bounces back and forth between a half dozen cities on the eastern seaboard...\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nNow, that's a huge problem considering that he lives in a world full of furries.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nHe wasn't always a runner though. \u0026nbsp;For the first three years of his life, his parents sheltered him from the hate and bigotry of the world. \u0026nbsp;When they died, he got sent to an orphanage. \u0026nbsp;He didn't know what the hell was going on; just that he missed his parents (who oddly enough, were furries). \u0026nbsp;Well, you can imagine the reaction people gave him when they saw him on the adoption line. \u0026nbsp;Some were shocked, some were disgusted...But most of them were scared, muttering insults as they passed by him, turning their faces.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\n'Abomination.' \u0026nbsp;'Mutant.' \u0026nbsp; 'Freak.'\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\n'Freak.' \u0026nbsp;That's the one he remembered, that's the one that scarred his memory.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nSo when he reached his ninth birthday, he got tired of sitting in that accursed hell hole and ran away. \u0026nbsp;At first, he didn't know what to do, but for a nine year old he was pretty smart; so he made his own set of rules for survival on the streets.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nDon't trust anyone.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nDon't get caught by authorities.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nStay in the best physical shape you can.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nWork if you can, steal if you must.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nAlways wear enough clothing to conceal and hide who you are.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nNever stay in one city for too long...Unless it's Seattle.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nFor seven years, he led this life, making a course throughout the states by hitch-hiking and bus rides. \u0026nbsp;Every city he went to, he drew a mini map of it, detailing the location of the small safe-houses in which he hid supplies stored for when he returned. \u0026nbsp;The most\u0026nbsp;time he would spend in one place, even Seattle was two weeks. \u0026nbsp;Then he would leave to the next big city.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nLittle did he know, he was going to spend a lot more time than he intended in Seattle.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nJohnny knew that eventually he was gonna stop and try to find a stable life. \u0026nbsp;That's all he wanted anyways - to be happy. \u0026nbsp;To be accepted by society.\u0026nbsp; But most of all...to be loved-\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nHe didn't know that technically he was gonna get what he asked for. \u0026nbsp;The way that the humans vanished wasn't really a mystery. \u0026nbsp;By the turn of the 21st century humans developed a serum that altered a person's genetic codes and turned them into furries. \u0026nbsp;At first, it was a small thing.\u0026nbsp; But over time, furries quickly became the top species on the planet and the number of humans was depleting. \u0026nbsp;There was a huge news break when those seventy two years ago, the last one had died.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nEveryone has a destiny. \u0026nbsp;And to get to that you have to go through hell first. \u0026nbsp;Johnny thought that all his life so far was the trouble he had to pay to get to his. \u0026nbsp;But he was far from right. \u0026nbsp;All his life he thought IT was the journey to his destiny. \u0026nbsp;He was wrong.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nHis journey had just begun...\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nEdit performed on 24/12/2011 as a gift by RuthofPern, at Madfire's request.\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"existence","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/243408-existence-chapter-one.json"}}
