# letter to the bright ones

Hi bright one  
  
    I speak now, so that you might show your light to me: that I might know a little more of your light, and that you might know how much I admire you and those who have taken to the skies and made their way to the stars.  
  
    I know each one of you has faced the question of whether or not to step from the safety of your cave or rock... In some ways I wish to be like you, so for now still like to watch you soar in the skies.  
  
    But I have let my fears drive me deep into my cave, I hide from the monsters that I see, for I feel small and weak when I look out of my cave at the large creatures trespassing in my world.  For, though am small, I will admit I am not tiny, but small and unprotected. I still fear the great darkness, on many occasions I have seen it's shadow my meadow. It scars me as it takes away the light.  
  
    I have been to the cave mouth hidden deep in the mountains. On these few occasions I have found great love, and on others terrible hatred.  The fairies, on one of the few times someone had coaxed me from my cave, asked me why I hid in the cave, when I told them of the dark, they looked confused.  They didn't understand that the dark in the cave was mine, so held no fear.

      So still I only venture to the cave mouth and sometimes others pass by.  I watched the great gryphons fly with the dragons, the unicorns dance in the meadow with the were-beasts.  One day a cougar-taur (going by the name Chakat Goldfur) said 'hi' to me as shi walked by the cave entrance.  On another day vast changes  swept across the entire valley as I hid in the cave  mouth, watching. Later an ocelot like creature (going by the name  Trel'la)stopped outside the cave and asked to tell my tale so that someone might know it.  
  
    I wasn't sure what to tell hir as shi didn't try to enter my domain.  Leaving me safe, so I told hir my tale, as I finished shi went away along with the strange world.  
  
    So today I look out and wonder whether or not I will have the courage to join you in the skies.  
  
    Love a small Ffaulcks (a small feather winged fox like creature).
