I'm pretty nervous to be posting these, but I might as well give it a shot right?...\n\nHere's Chapter two...\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nChapter Two: Life's Shadow.\n\nMy heart suddenly jolted, and I jumped up. My eyes fought   \nhard to adjust to the bright light of an ancient cavern.   \nStaring around, I realized that my forearms were oddly   \nenough below me, supporting my upper body. Looking to   \nthe cursed markings and watched them fade into my very   \nspirit.  \n'On all fours?' Walking out into the sun's gift; my breathing   \nstopped as I looked upon an endless landscape of trees and   \nmountains, what appeared to be a rocky pathway down the   \nmountain appeared to my left, immediately reminding me   \nof a faint memory. I forced my view to my back, my hind   \nlegs could only be slightly seen, but I was perfectly fine.   \n'What happened? Where am I?' These questions pelted the   \ninside of my head, making my curiosity arise, causing me to   \nfollow the path down. Reaching the forests ground below, a   \nsmall stream ran peacefully beside the pathway. Stopping in   \nmy tracks, I inspected the water.   \n'Can I drink it? Is it safe?' A rustle came from beside me,   \nand I jumped into the bushes frantically. Out of the noise, a   \nferal deer came out of the dark forest, and took a drink   \nfrom the passing water. As it passed, my wide eyes kept   \ntheir hold on the creature until it finally disappeared from   \nmy sight. Moving quietly to the river, I drank greedily, and   \nwalked down the same pathway. Trees reached for the   \nskies, and filled me with wonder. Looking around, a clearing   \ncame to my view. Bright lights flown into the darker trail,   \nwalking into the blaze of open sunlight, my eyes scanned   \nthe flowers all around me. Shades of blue, red, white, and   \nyellow surrounded me. Realizing that I was on a tall hill, I   \nlooked down, and saw a large wooden town at the bottom   \nof it. Having no knowledge as to what it was, I made my   \nway down a flat, rocky trail to the towns gates. Within the   \ntown, groups of creatures walked by creating sounds that   \ncame from all sorts of direction within the crowded place.   \nWalking along in excitement, I didn't see the shape that   \ncame in front of me, and walked straight into it. The small   \nyelp I made got the animal's attention, and he focused   \nemerald eyes upon me.  \n\"Now what ave we ere?\" His voice of thunder stopped me   \ninto a shaken wake, looking up to the huge dog, he looked   \ndown at me in this almost kind smile.   \n\"Oi, I got me'selves a little pup.\" My eyes widened to his   \nsudden movements, and he bent closer towards my shaken   \nbody. \"You look hungry little fella.\" His paw reached into a   \nsmall satchel that hung around his shoulder, and pulled out   \na small dried piece of meat. The scent of it came to me in a   \nheartbeat, and I took it from him. As I retrieved the small   \ngift, a shadow came from behind the dog.  \n\"There you are.\" A male spoke softly from behind him. The   \ndog smiled to himself, and turned to his companion. After a   \nsource of chatter, they both began to leave, and I followed   \nthem.  \n\"Great.\" One of the voices spoke, and turned towards me.   \n\"Go on, get!\" His voice was loud, and I stopped in an   \nushered fear. He began moving towards me with a wretch,   \nat that moment it was enough to make me bolt off. Crossing   \nthrough the travelers, I bolted my way out of the town, and   \nback into the forest.   \n'What just happened? Why did he do that?' As I began to   \nponder, my body couldn't sense the threat that was coming   \nat me. As I finally heard the sounds of the brush, and   \nturned to a golden body with round ears, a slender tail, and   \na deafening roar that shook the earth.\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"The Warrior\\'s Dove.","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/267224-the-warrior-s-dove-ch-1.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/268625-the-warrior-s-dove-ch-3.json"}}
