# The End of a Life: Smoking Kills

So... no idea what I'm writing here yet.&nbsp; This is going to be a freewrite.&nbsp; Let's take an adventure together and see where it leads.

Everything seemed to go quiet.&nbsp; The two men were staring at each other.&nbsp; A yellow flower blossomed near one man's shoulder while a red one blossomed on the other man's chest.&nbsp; The first watched the second fall to the ground with crushing finality.&nbsp; Four steps later, he was standing over the fallen man, watching the blood spread across his shirt.&nbsp; "Well," he said, fishing the spent casing out of his revolver and and replacing it with a fresh bullet, "you were right.&nbsp; Smoking was the death of you."&nbsp; Without another word, he turned and left the room.

"What?&nbsp; You asked, I answered.&nbsp; You wanted to know how he died, and I told you."

"Oh, spare me the bullshit.&nbsp; You know exactly what I wanted, and you just dodged the question.&nbsp; Are you going to tell me, or aren't you?"

A sigh.&nbsp; "You're never satisfied, are you? What do you want, my life story?"

"Eventually, perhaps.&nbsp; For now, though, just the full account of the circumstances surrounding his death will suffice."

"A full account?&nbsp; That'll take us beyond closing time."

"It can't take that long."

Another sigh.&nbsp; "C'mon, boy.&nbsp; If you really want to know, I'll tell you, but not here."

"Where, then?"

"His house."

"His house?&nbsp; It'll be crawling with cops."

"No.&nbsp; Not that house.&nbsp; That was his public place.&nbsp; If you really want to understand, you have to see his private life."

"He had two houses?"

"I said not here, boy.&nbsp; Are you coming, or aren't you?"

"It's perfect.&nbsp; I'll take it."

"Uh, very well, sir."&nbsp; The man sounded perplexed, rather understandably.&nbsp; Why would anyone want to buy such worthless, unappealing land?&nbsp; Well, he didn't need to know.&nbsp; All that man needed to do was take his money, give him a deed, and get the hell off his land.&nbsp; This would be a good place to make a start.&nbsp; Finally, he would be the one starting something rather than finishing what other people started.&nbsp; When someone wrote a book about him, this would be the opening chapter.&nbsp; This was it.

Meant to add more, but I wrote this at the centre and had to leave part way through writing.&nbsp; So this is it as it stands now.&nbsp; Tell me what you think please!&nbsp; Oh, and one more thing: "man" is a general term meaning the male of any species.&nbsp; This is furry, but there's been no descrptions yet.&nbsp; It will be explained later, if this continues.
