Misery,

It is my company,

My only constant companion,

Who never leaves my side.

 

I awake,

It is morning,

No one is by my side,

Nobody to lick my nose.

 

I sleep,

It is late,

No one is waiting,

Nobody to cuddle with.

 

Every day,

Blends together,

Constant shades of gray,

No different from an old TV set.

 

Every night.

Hidden seams,

Constant shades of black,

No different from a moonless sky.

 

I stand,

Alone in my house,

Alone out in the wild,

Alone in my own soul.

 

Nothing,

To look forward to,

To hope and dream,

To live or die for.
