The land is free.\n\nThe lion girds himself for love.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nHelmet and armour laid aside\n\nThe heavy mane hangs splendidly\n\nHe licks the blood clots from his hide\n\nThe red sun rolls towards the sea.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nRosewater masks the battle scent\n\nHe dons the velvet cape and glove\n\nThe burning kingdom almost spent,\n\nIts last glow tints the tower above.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nHis is the kingdom, his the throne\n\nDead are his loyal companions three\n\nThe old king's fled. He is alone.\n\nThe war is done. The land is free.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nHe eyes the tower stairway's bond\n\nAnd, growling, bursts it with a shove\n\nThe old king's daughter waits beyond\n\nThe lion girds himself for love.\n\n  \n  \n\n"}
