# Death... Is it truly the end?

Now, I wouldn't consider myself a poet, but yesterday I felt kind of... morbid yet tranquil, so I came up with this...

 

This is for all of you who have gone and left this world...  
  
Your body may have gone away  
But your soul will ever stay  
  
You cease to talk, to run, to cry  
But your spirit shan't die  
  
Cold as ice your skin may be  
But like the sun you'll keep us warm-  
With your eternal memories  
  
Days will pass, months, years  
We may forget you momentarily-  
But never shall we efface your voice from our ears  
  
In your final hour, your final breath  
Those you touched felt something-  
Alas, it was death  
  
A wave of emptiness crashes onto the shore  
Washing away those not prepared  
As time passes we will miss you more  
For we think of the days we shared  
  
Gone in flesh, in bone, in blood  
Just know that you'll always be loved
