_As The Rain Came Down_

_Late Saturday afternoon, the waves were pounding the rocks, high tide was coming in, as dark heavy clouds were slowly moving to shore & inland, you can smell the sea salt in the air on this Irish village, a peaceful place to live & to rise a family._

_Friendly furrys whit a big heart & open minds, always ready to lend a paw to help each other out._

_Narrator._

_Marcus a Wolf/Huskie 29, good looks; average height & a gay conservative as he comes in to door of the Moms & Pops general store & tea shop._

_Mr. & Mrs. Jameson are the owners of such place, they take pride in saying, "Come in, take a seat, have a cup of tea & say what's on your mind" & they live by this creed, they treat you as family._

_As Marcus went in Mrs. Jameson see him coming & smiles saying, Marcus, Marcus where have you been this past 3 weeks?_

_She comes from behind the counter & hugs him in a mothers embrace as she kisses him on the cheek as Marcus returns the kiss._

_Went to the city, to file some papers work, as you know not all things can be done by e-mails & online._

_Mrs. Jameson. That's reminds me, you promise to bring me up to date on my computer skills._

_Yes, let me get things together & I will come in a couple of days in the afternoon & we will start O.k. Miss Jameson nods at him meaning yes._

_Well, what will it be Marcus? I need some groceries making supper this evening, may I have some can soup & as he was going to say the next word he hears a yell calling out his name, "MARCUS my lad!"_

_It was Mr. Jameson that was steeping out from the warehouse, they hugs as Marcus told him, Sir you still have a tight hug, some laughter & chuckle; well, we baggers are a strong ones you know even as we are old we still give any furry a good fight;' he rises his paws._

_Mrs. Jameson. Come now, don't you raise hell in this place Joseph Jameson; remember the last time you did?_

_Mr. Jameson. Yes love, but the lad was asking for it & I only had a black eye, he got a broken bloody nose, hahaha... but we settle it whit some good old whisky & shake of the paw._

_Great Fang; I only wish I was here that day, as Marcus chuckle._

_Have time for some good Irish whisky lad, I got my special reserve you know, as Marcus licks his muzzle saying, I can't but let's make it two weeks on saturday at shenanigans' pub, I have still some work to finish then you & I will have some drinks also if you get me drunk enough I will sing some tunes._

_Marcus gently grabs Mrs. Jameson paw as kisses it, I expect to see you there Mrs. Jameson._

_Mr. Jameson. That's a good lad, so, its settle, two weeks on Saturday evening, takes out his paw as he spits on it & its end on a paw shake._

_Mrs. Jameson, now here Marcus, hear is you grocery's & some of my soup, you know you can't refuse it, you love my cooking!_

_Marcus. Whit a big smile and a wag of his tail; tells her, who can refuse anything from you, I sure not even the great fang god!_

_Miss Jameson. Come now, don't you be blaspheming as she blush, they all chuckle._

_Narrator._

_As Marcus pays & heads out the door, it's was all ready raining down & hard._

_He's steeps are kind of slow & he turns his lapel upward to cover himself; as he catches from the right corner of his eye a figure not to tall as he speaks to him, Sir, have some speared change...?_

_Marcus keeps on walking but suddenly the question hits his brain, before he was going to take a next steep he turns around & sees an otter all wet from the rain under the canopy of the store._

_As he looks at him whit more detail, he is surprise as he asks, you're not from this town I see, what are you doing out in the rain, you're a tourist lad?_

_No, I'm just kind of passing through but I didn't calculate my expenses so the bus let me down on the main road from here_

_Marcus. I see, well you going to need more than just speared change to get out of the rain & to a dry place in this town._

_Yes sir,_

_Marcus, please don't call me sir, well Then if you don't call me lad I won't call you Sir, as he chuckles._

_Marcus smiles, that's fare enough, steeping closer to him, I'm Marcus what's yours lad, opps... Sorry there extends his paw to him._

_The otter smiles; mine is Roland as he takes Marcus paw & shakes it as thunder of a lighting roared._

_Marcus saying; we better get out of the rain; I don't want to be hit by lighting, let's go to my house it's down some blocks from here._

_Roland. I accept, thank you._

_Narrator._

_Now Roland is 24, good looks, a strapping body, cheerful & a free spirited one._

_As they get to the house & walk in a thunder breaks the silence._

_Marcus looks at Roland, you're trembling, cold? I thought otters didn't get cold!_

_Roland well yes we do, you're seeing it, he chuckles whit a worry face & rubbing is paws._

_Marcus Let's get out of these clothes, there is some there in that room as he point to it, there are towels also._

_Marcus asks, I suppose you haven't eating anything, right?_

_Roland. Nothing, not even a descent peace of brown bread; hungry as hell._

_Marcus. Here, have a shot of whisky this will stop your trembling & warm you up a little before we eat._

_Marcus head to the kitchen as Roland heads to the room._

_Roland nice place, I will get the fire starting as soon I get these things off._

_Marcus thank you._

_Minutes past by as Roland steps out of the room & kneels to the fire place, asking got any matches?_

_Marcus yes, there just on top of the fire place, in a little brown box._

_Roland saying, I found them! But he soon discovers a marble urn; he stares at it in odd._

_Marcus comes out of the kitchen he sees the fire burning as the crackling of the wood and flames begin to heat the room and to out the house._

_Marcus hey, you're good at starting a fire._

_Roland. Well I have been out on the road for sometime; I do have some experience, whit his left arm on his back & his right paw near his muzzle blowing out the flame from the match has he grins._

_Marcus. How modest of you, as the two chuckle._

_Marcus. So, let's eat!_

_Roland. Good, the whisky is burning my stomach but it did the trick._

_The time went by as it's always do, conversation, exchange of ideas, philosophy & politics._

_As they got up, Roland saying, I will get the dishes._

_Marcus. Thank you but leave them in the sink, suddenly the lights go out._

_Narrator._

_The two in the dark only the light of the fire place that was still burning bright reflected on them, Marcus looks at Roland still for a moment, Roland notice it but asks, is there something wrong?_

_Marcus. hu! ohh... no, not at all, it's just that it's been sometime that I had someone here in the house._

_Roland. you're a loner?_

_Marcus. no, I'm well know in town, the furrys are great; they will respect you as long you respect them & they will treat you like family as the get to know you._

_Roland. I'm just passing through._

_Marcus. were you going if I may ask?_

_Roland. nowhere, it's the same here than there._

_Marcus. a free spirit, well good luck, but for the moment you are staying & I'm off to bed, you will take that room, there is bed sheets & pillows, the lavatory in down the hall, here take this lamp._

_Roland. what? so soon to bed? I was thinking staying up much later; he looks at his watch being just 10:16 PM._

_Marcus. saying, I have work to do, good night Roland._

_Roland. good night Marcus, by the way, you don't mine if I make breakfast, do you? I'm a good cook!_

_Marcus. sounds good, but promise me you will not burn the kitchen down._

_Roland. I will try._

_Marcus. It's all I ask, good night Roland._

_As they lay in their beds Marcus is deep in his thoughts._

_Good looking otter, intelligent, fearless, nice... he turns to sleep._

_Roland oh great, just what I need, dark, rainy, lightning & thunder for an end of a day, he 'sigs'_

_Narrator._

_Now in bed he looks threw the window, a flash of light in the distance & the echo of a thunder can he heard, he looks worry, he eyes close & slowly drifts to sleep._

_The night passes bye & the sun illuminates the morning glory._

_Roland opens his eyes, sees the time & it's only 7:28 AM as he hears noises from the hall, lays back as the thinks it's only Marcus, only Marcus? oh hell!_

_he gets up, runs through the door and heads to the kitchen, as he's trying to find some pancake mix, milk & eggs._

_Marcus just coming up the hall from the lavatory turns to the kitchen sips his Tea 'Earl Gray, Hot'_

_His eyes go wide, tea bursting out of his muzzle as the cup inclines to the side!_

_He is surprise of what he is seeing, Roland turns at him asks what's wrong?_

_Marcus so you, uh... plan to put some pants on, do you?_

_Roland what? He looks down, eyes widen & notice he has no pants just a shirt on._

_Narrator_

_He gets two pan tops from the counter to covers himself, will you excuse me, I forgot something... his face all blushed like a red sunset._

_Roland runs to the room Marcus regains a little of himself & looks Roland from behind._

_He stops, thinks, a chuckle, he bust out loud...! he can't control it... laughing so hard that he can't breathe, he moves but suddenly he slips, hits the floor but he keeps on._

_Roland, oh... shit I made an ass out of myself, how in hell I get out of it? how...? He ears Marcus laughter and something hits the wood floor._

_Roland puts his pants on, comes out, he sees Marcus laying on the floor now crying of all the laughter he can't control,_

_Roland what happen? Come on now, get it out, yes, I'm old enough to take it._

_Marcus looks at him._

_You know, I don't see much half naked otter's in this house, chuckles suppressing the laughter._

_Roland. yes, I sure you don't but I do have to make breakfast._

_Marcus. oh by all means, please doo as he gets up._

_Narrator._

_Breakfast was done & they sits down to eat Marcus still chuckling at times Roland just looks at him whit a smile on, taking it in good humor._

_Marcus. You're a good cook._

_Roland thank you, I do my best, did you like the blue berry' pancakes?_

_Marcus yes I did & thank you for not burning the kitchen._

_Roland snaps his finger claws, dam,I knew I forgot something!_

_Marcus. and before I forget thanks for the show, as a soft hard chuckle gets out._

_Roland. come on now, you're not going to let it go do you? he's shakes his head blushing._

_Narrator._

_They get up and leave the table, Marcus makes a cup of 'Earl gray' tea occurs._

_Marcus. I'll go to the study room, I got work to finish._

_Roland. what kind of work you do?_

_Marcus. I'm a translator, Old Gaelic Lang, French, Russian and Spanish._

_Roland. I'm good whit my paws mechanic, electrical systems also whit computers._

_Marcus. good you can make good money; have anything you want whit the skills you have._

_Rolland. naaw, I have what I need in here, he points at his backpack._

_Marcus. well I'm off, but here is some rules, no smoking my cigars, no loud music, no interruptions only if it's necessary._

_As you can see there are all kinds of music here, he points to the wall were the CD's and audio are._

_Rolland just looks amaze a big grin come out of his muzzle, GREAT GOD, I LOVE IT!_

_Opps' paw over his muzzle, I will do the dishes, hehehe... don't worry, I will take good care of them all, as he pushes Marcus to the study room._

_Narrator._

_Days come & go as they enjoy each other's company._

_The evening blanket was covering the remains of the day as heavy dark clouds roll in to town._

_Marcus came out of the study room & Roland is reading a book as low music fills the room._

_Roland gets up. Shouts, Qui va la?_

_Marcus. A friend._

_Roland. Discuss unto me; art thou officer? Or art thou base, common and popular?_

_Marcus. I am a gentlefurr of a company._

_Marcus. Shakespeare, Henry the V, Act 4, scene I. The English camp at Agincourt._

_Roland. Bloody hell, I will make dinner as he resigns' himself._

_Marcus. No, we are going out tonight it's saturday; I promise the Jameson's & especially Mr. Jameson I'll have some drinks & sing._

_Roland. What, some howls? Maybe someone strangling a cat? he chuckles._

_Marcus. Just you wait see you nonbeliever._

_Roland. Good then, let's go!_

_Narrator._

_As they head out on the street a lamp light flickers & a humid wind begins to blow._

_Roland. I think there's a storm coming Marcus._

_Marcus. No worries, 'he pats him on his shoulder' it will be fine, I don't care if hell comes down; time to get piss as farts, 'drunk!'_

_Narrator._

_As they arrive to the pub they greet & wave to all, they all greeted back rising their pints of beer, whisky or their favorite spirits._

_Marcus & Roland go to the bar then table to table greeting all there__' they have good food, drinks & friends, what more can anyone ask._

_Marcus sings some old Irish songs as Roland can believe what he hear, I'll be Dam... he is good!_

_Roland dances whit Mrs. Jameson, as Mr. Jameson & Marcus are sitting down talking._

_Mr. Jameson, he sure can dance this Roland lad._

_Marcus, I dint know he can, look at him._

_Mr. Jameson looks at Marcus, well?_

_Marcus. Well what?_

_Mr. Jameson its time Marcus, let go, move on._

_Marcus gets a straight face, no, it is not, let's just have a good time, please, fill me a glass._

_Mr. Jameson all right lad, here it is._

_Marcus takes it, rises it up as he yells "Sláinté" Cheers! As he drinks it down._

_Like always all things have a beginning & an end; it was 3:17 time to go home._

_Narrator._

_Marcus & Roland back on the streets; fill to their muzzle of beer & whisky, arms to shoulder in a zig zag direction, they make their way back home when it starts to rain._

_Marcus begins to sing, 'If I had money enough to spend and leisure to sit awhile, there is a fair maid in this town \*giggles\* that sorely has my heart beguiled, her rosy cheeks here ruby lips, \*he looks at Roland\* she alone has my heart in thrall, So fill to me the parting glass, goodnight and joy be whit you all!'_

_A flash of lightning comes down some meters away from them, shock, the run like hell home._

_They get to the door, Roland. get it open, Marcus I'm trying dam it!_

_Marcus opens the door Roland grabs Marcus, they hit the sofa hard and they look at each other._

_Roland. Thank you I had a bloody great time._

_Marcus. Hush now, there's no needed; it's the least I can do for a good friend._

_Roland. Why than you; you know were going to have one bloody hang over in the morning._

_Marcus, I will kill you if you wake me up you drunken otter, Hahahaha..!_

_Roland. I will leave in your peace; I don't want to be killed. 'he chuckles' good night._

_Narrator._

_They go to their rooms & in their beds; rain still purring down, wind, lightning & thunder._

_Time passes by as suddenly the door slowly opens, you can hear uneven steeps & they stop on the hedge of the bed; its Roland standing beside Marcus._

_Roland. Marcus, Marcus, Marcus!_

_Marcus. Yes, what is the matter?_

_Roland. Can I sleep here tonight?_

_Marcus. What...!?_

_Roland. I have a confession to make, I'm... mmm... scared by lightning!_

_Marcus. You? a big strapping otter like you? Hahaha..!_

_Roland. Marcus, you're not helping here._

_Marcus. Yes, yes, I'm sorry, you can sleep \*he burps\* take the other side, he points._

_Roland. Thanks, he jumps in bed pulls the covers over him from head to toe._

_Marcus. Whispers', great fang what a scary otter._

_Roland. I heard that Marcus; good night._

_Marcus. Hehehe... good night._

_Narrator._

_The night turns to day but the rain persists in tapping the roof & walls_

_As they sleep in peaceful slumber, Roland turns brushing Marcus muzzle whit his paw._

_Marcus opens his eyes, yawns, blinks' looking at Roland still sleeping as he suddenly slowly opens his eyes._

_Roland smiles, Marcus stares at them in contemplation._

_Marcus moves his paws to Roland's face as he kisses him, Roland eyes widen in surprise but he surrenders to the passionate kiss that seams an eternity._

_Suddenly Marcus eyes go wide as he notice what he is doing, in a swift move he jumps out of bed looking at Roland._

_Roland looks back whit a surprise grin of what has happen._

_Marcus waving paws in the air... I'm sorry! His words won't come out, he is in shock._

_He turns, heads fast out of the room stumbling as the door slams._

_Roland a bit confuse, Marcus, wait... stop!_

_Roland thinks what the bloody hell just happen here? He gets up moves down the hall to the living room following Marcus._

_He looks for Marcus all over the house but he is nowhere to be found he turns to the front door that is wide open as the wind & rain are coming in._

_He heads to the door & looks outside, nothing._

_By chance he looks at the beach were the rocky coast meets the pounding sea & breaks even in a never ending cycle._

_Marcus is on the rocky ridge, the heavy sea & rain comes down on him._

_Roland runs down, he gets there, yell's Marcus, Marcus, Marcus let's go back, we will talk about this, it's fine, I'm not mad!_

_By this time the two are soaking wet & cold, even colder as the sea water hits them._

_Marcus. You know I didn't even cry at the funeral, I tuck it all in._

_Roland. Yes I know Mrs. Jameson told me about the accident, the police report say that the garbage truck was coming down the hill to fast it cud not stop on time._

_Marcus. Thomas was driving; as the truck hit the mini cooper, we were drag & bounce some meters, his head hits the door frame, he turn & look at me, he was trying to say something, I try to reach him but I cud not move & all just went blur._

_I wake up in the hospital whit a broken arm & some lacerations as they told me that Thomas had died, the doctors did their best to save him but the head blow was too much, pieces of his skull was crush in to his brain & he was dead when he arrive there._

_I ask were his body was, they told me that it was down in the hospital morgue , I pleaded to let me see him, the doctor & nurse was kind to take me there, I ask to have some moment alone whit him, I climb up the bed where he was laid, I try my best to keep him warm whit my body but it was useless, I just howl so loud & hysterically loud that they came, I wouldn't let they near him, I dint want them to get close to us, but they sedated me & knock me out._

_When I meet him he had the most beautiful blue eyes, I fall for him right there, I knew I was going to spend the rest of my life whit him._

_But alas, life had other plans for us._

_Until you came along, I just took one look at your blue eyes, I hide my feelings all my emotions the best I cud, but I fail._

_I cud knot resist them and even you, Marcus falls to his knees, he look to the sky as his arms are widen in prayer, clemency._

_Oh Great Fang God; What I have done? I have betrayed Thomas & myself please turn me to stone!_

_Narrator._

_Marcus goes forward, his paws pound the grown, howls as tears run down his face._

_Roland kneels in front of him moving him backward._

_Marcus no, don't do this, forgive yourself, I know that Thomas wouldn't like to see you like this?_

_I have faith that he understands more that you know, what does your heart tell you? What do you feel?_

_Marcus. You don't understand, I don't want to feel my heart and I can't stand anymore this pain._

_Roland grabs Marcus paw & puts it on Marcus chest, fell it! Take the pain, Marcus howls in agony, d__on't you think if we take joy & happiness out of life we also can take pain & sorrow?_

_It may sound stupid but I like you & I have feeling for you, I never taught my eyes cause you pain, I should leave, it's time for me to move on._

_Marcus looks at Roland, I feel the same for you Roland, but how can I let go? How can I ever let go some one that is so deep in my heart & my soul?_

_Roland. Whit love in your heart you let go Marcus, whit love in your hearth._

_Marcus. You know Mr. Jameson was right, it's time to let go; it's time to move on._

_Narrator._

_Suddenly a deep trembling thunder breaks the sky; the clouds make an opening as rays of sunlight come through & over the two of them._

_Roland. Let's go home, they embrace in a tight hug & head home._

_Narrator._

_Now at a distance Mrs. & Mr. Jameson are taking a walk & they have heard & seen what have happen whit Marcus & Roland._

_Mr. Jameson. You know love; Thomas always loved walking in the rain._

_Mrs. Jameson. Yes love he did; as she looks at her wallet seeing a picture of Thomas, their son._

_Narrator._

_By this time Marcus & Roland are walking in to the living room, Marcus kneels down to Roland asking would you stay and live whit this broken down wuskie?_

_Roland, eyes wide in disbelief, yes; yes I will, I'm home now, no more there or somewhere, this is where I belong now._

_Narrator_

_Marcus gets up, they hug and nuzzle, content whit each other._

_Roland. I will make some Tea,_

_Marcus. No, there will be time for that; come my blue eye otter, lay whit me._

_Narrator._

_Laying down to the sofa, Marcus on his back as Roland lays on him chest to chest, a slow lick to the nose, a passionate kiss as a blanket covers them, a heart at peace a free spirit in rest._

_There was no need to ear I love you, the beating of their hearts were saying it._

_Slowly drifting to sleep, as the rain come down._

_The end._
