{"sf1_id":318188,"sf2_id":"XekXO3Mm","title":"Waiting to be Human","author":"Werefox Inari Sachi","words":332,"posted_at":"2011-12-19T09:05:00.000Z","tags":["Fox","Poem","Poetry","Romance","Transformation","Werefox"],"url":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/318188-waiting-to-be-human","original_url":"https://sofurry.com/s/XekXO3Mm","image_url":"https://cdn.sofurryfiles.com/submissions/thumbnails/a8/31/a831fc47-a0c6-4c34-bed7-a78b7162d551","description":"","content":"He admired himself once more, under the clouded sky,\n\nBenath\u0026nbsp; the moonlit skein, which reflected in a sparkling,\n\nGolden eye.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"I embrace this.\" he whispered, as he wrapped his arms about his companion.\n\nShe too, as a fox-woman, tittered,\n\nAs they sat together on a big flat rock,\n\nNaked in the night.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nShe has coarse dark furry hands now,\n\nWhich he takes to her face, letting her admire\n\nWhat they concensually have become--\n\nSimple, and unclean.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nRelief spills from her bowels\n\nAs she marks her lurid scent,\n\nEnticing him forth for fauna's sensuality.\n\nHe joins, though in spirit.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nHe holds her close and comforts--\n\nRuns smooth nails through her locks\n\nWhich she retained by luck alone\n\nOr some trick of the gene.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nThey both have donned a snout.\n\nTo sniff the scents of nighttime:\n\nPine, waterfalls, deer carcasses--\n\nSweet carrion, and bugs.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nEach pip of a resting bird\n\nAnd every touch of a leaf's fall--\n\nAgainst the ground, though light\n\nMeets their tufted fancy ears.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nHe kisses her with reekish breath\n\nOn a pinkened, silky tongue.\n\nPromising her his comforts\n\nThrough time and time again.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nAs they change and embrace a new way.\n\nShedding old conceits, they rise--\n\nDonned, the visage of old--\n\nThe cloaks of fur and hide.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nTurgidly his tail wags, together;\n\nThey embrace, though breast to back.\n\nHer hair of mousy brown, and his of red\n\nThe only signs of people, there.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nAll else is of the beast.\n\nThey breath in tune, in time,\n\nWith the rustling winds, and chirping\n\nOf the crickets in the dew.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe poignant scene is incuplable.\n\nThe pair, neither immaculate nor concerned\n\nSwear off all artifice of oath or vow,\n\nIn one fine scene, they draw a finer union.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nIn coitus indivisible, irrevocable,\n\nTwo souls join, in agreement--\n\nDuly earned in knowing,\n\nIndelible Passion's thrusts.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe rumble in her womb\n\nIs the first sign that perhaps,\n\nHumanity was not--after all--a loss.\n\n  \n  \n\n"}
