\u0026nbsp;\\\u003c(^\\_^)\\\u003e\u0026nbsp;\n\nPS. \u0026nbsp;The first spell that's mentioned (for thief gendering) is real and can be found in _The Encyclopedia of 5000 Spells,_\u0026nbsp;by Judika Illers.\n\n(^\\_^) \u0026nbsp;(\\\u003e\\_\\\u003c) \u0026nbsp;(\\\u003c\\_\\\u003e) (^\\_^) \u0026nbsp;(\\\u003e\\_\\\u003c) \u0026nbsp;(\\\u003c\\_\\\u003e) (^\\_^) \u0026nbsp;(\\\u003e\\_\\\u003c) \u0026nbsp;(\\\u003c\\_\\\u003e) \u0026nbsp;(^\\_^) \u0026nbsp;(\\\u003e\\_\\\u003c) \u0026nbsp;(\\\u003c\\_\\\u003e)\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;(^\\_^) \u0026nbsp;(\\\u003e\\_\\\u003c) \u0026nbsp;(\\\u003c\\_\\\u003e)\u0026nbsp;(^\\_^) \u0026nbsp;(\\\u003e\\_\\\u003c) \u0026nbsp;(\\\u003c\\_\\\u003e)\u0026nbsp;\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nAn Ordinary Day\n\nPrologue\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; I awoke one day to find that my bread had been stolen from my kitchen.\u0026nbsp; _Great,_ I thought to myself, _when is this thief going to realize that I know who he is._\u0026nbsp; I reach into a cupboard and take out some Queen of the Meadow root.\u0026nbsp; _I might as well double check that he stole my bread...\u0026nbsp; Again.\u0026nbsp;_ Tossing the root into a basin of water, it sinks; just like it does every other time that wolf has stolen something of mine.\u0026nbsp; _Well, this spell would say it was a woman if the root floats; this root is actually quite buoyant so it usually floats.\u0026nbsp; I wish he would just ask for food rather than breaking and entering.\u0026nbsp; Of course, I could just check my security camera, but I don't get to use simple magic like this enough._\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; I head downstairs and leave through the front door.\u0026nbsp; I get on my bike and pedal to the park that's only three blocks away.\u0026nbsp; I look into the early morning gloom.\u0026nbsp; _At least it's warm since it's early June._\u0026nbsp; I spot the thief not too far away on a bench with my bread and a milk carton. \u0026nbsp;I tie my bike up and take a quick diagnostic of my thief.\u0026nbsp; _About five foot nine in height, muscles are slightly more defined since I last saw him, still skinny though.\u0026nbsp; His fur is still like the night sky, black with the slightest tinge of blue that is just barely noticeable with little flecks of white.\u0026nbsp; No shirt as per usual...\u0026nbsp; At least this time he's wearing pants...\u0026nbsp; He hasn't noticed my approach yet so I startle him a little when I say,_\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"Enjoying my bread and, I assume, someone else's milk?\"\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"Jebus!\u0026nbsp; Don't scare me like that!\u0026nbsp; You almost made me waste the bread!\u0026nbsp; It won't do me much good if I'm choking on it!\"\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"You know, if you want food you could just ask, I mean, we were friends back in grade school and that hasn't changed much since we turned nineteen.\"\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"I couldn't do that, I'd feel like I'm taking advantage of you.\"\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"And stealing from me is better?\"\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"Not really, but thanks Captain Sarcasm!\"\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; We laugh at his joke and I join him on the bench.\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"So,\u0026nbsp; Kuroi, how's life been living on the streets for the last few months?\"\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"Eh, the usual.\u0026nbsp; Getting by stealing, cops on my ass about living in the park.\u0026nbsp; Same old.\"\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"The cops are probably getting pretty agitated with you, huh?\"\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"Yeah, they say that if I don't leave the park by tonight that they're returning, with pepper spray, and are going to force me to leave.\"\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"What?\u0026nbsp; Seriously?\"\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"Yeah...\u0026nbsp; I think I'm ready to take you up on your offer.\"\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"To come stay with me?\"\u0026nbsp; I had made this offer when he first told me that he was going to live \"street-wise\" for a while.\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"...Yeah...\"\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \"Well, welcome to Hikari house!\"\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"An Ordinary Day","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/322418-an-ordinary-day-chapter-1-a-glimpse-of-a-better-life.json"}}
