Nature cannot be stopped, nor is there a cause; yet there is also no reason for the ruin of humanity, and that humans don't just shape their own destiny, but also decide the fate of life itself.","content":"_Ruin_\n\nDeceit, sorrow, grief and pain,   \nDeath, hate, with nothing to gain   \nThese are the friends, and many faces,   \nOf Ruin; forever walking in its place.\n\nWhen the blasts come, and destruction falls,   \nA fatal rain will follow   \nFor many die, and life fails   \nTo continue on, like their fellows.   \nWith bitter destruction   \nAnd unforgiving chaos,   \nComes the peoples' rebellion   \nAnd their mindless thoughts   \nThey go to waste   \nOn such bitter regret   \nAnd with such haste   \nThey wish to forget.   \nSuch horrible misdeeds   \nShould not go unpunished;   \nYet they do, the deeds   \nNo one won; only the vanquished   \nLive on.   \nFor when there is so much ruin   \nHope just flies away   \nNever to return again.\n\nTo the wandering lost   \nAnd the hapless souls   \nHappiness is a cost   \nTo which they never be whole.   \nFor happiness is a lie,   \nTo be consoled a disgrace.   \nWith ruin, we get by:   \nLeaving sorrow in its place.   \nFor eternity, it resides   \nAnd day by day, we get by.\n\nThe flames, they quicken   \nThey rush to feast   \nAnd with this a forest   \nComes to its end; with death it meets.\n\nAn unforgiving ocean, with unbiased notion   \nSweeps away all of those   \nWho pray for forgiveness   \nAnd receive none.   \nFor the waves clear all life   \nAs the winds drown out the cries   \nAlthough no one was there anyways   \nAnd after the wind and rain   \nClear the mess,   \nThere is no one to witness   \nThe ruin left in its wake.\n\nWith more ruin, the earth crumbles   \nJust as it might quake   \nTranquility shatters, and the sky tumbles   \nHell, it seems, awakes   \nTo call forth its work   \nIts ruin.\n\nThe deadly winds of deadly skies   \nThey churn and spin   \nWith hot and cold; and cold and warm   \nComes the devil's grin.   \nThe cries of most, are heard nevermore   \nNever dying are their screams   \nAlways to be haunting forevermore   \nThe innermost of our dreams.   \nThe land is torn; the earth been ravaged   \nThe sacred thing is gone.   \nThe deadly wind had been so savage   \nAs it carried ruin along.\n\nThe ruins of nature, an unjust cause   \nCaused, by nothing at all.   \nBut the ruins of men are the ruins of all   \nAnd with this ruin, the world shall fall.\n\n~bhscorch\n\n[![Creative Commons License](http://i.creativecommons.org/l/by-nd/3.0/88x31.png)](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/3.0/)  \n\"Ruin\" by bhscorch is licensed under a [Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/3.0/)\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poetry","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/334036-poem-7-destruction-cries.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/334059-poem-9-the-question-why.json"}}
