On these plains the wolves howled and the birds  \nflew high, while the sun had barely crept over the horizon. Even in the twilight dawning  \nhours, the Embassy was in full motion, preparing for their next adventure into the wide realm   \nof the Imperials. Thalmor, the name given to these Aldmeri representatives were simply High-  \nElves; Altmer. Gold skinned, pale-haired and gold-eyed users of the Magicka. The most proficient,  \nreally, given their advanced innate storage of said art. As such, they ruled through a mixture  \nof coercion, force, and raw magical prowess. Like an iron gauntlet sheathed in force, their  \ngrip had steadily grown over the last two centuries and now they ruled from Summerset Isle,  \nall the way to the furthest reaches of Cyrodill, and were now setting their sights upon the  \nvast northern plains of the Nordic home. This task had fallen to three Thalmor Embassadors.  \nOne had already been set in Skyrim, awaiting orders and taking in information. Coercing the  \nlocals into a sort of false sense of feeling. The other two were situated just south of the  \nborderline, waiting placement. Our story follows one of these two, a High Elf named Kairuna,  \na mage of immeasurable pride and talent, and a tendency to overdo. Known as the Destruction  \nSpecialist, his gifts were distinctively suited to the most offensive capabilities known to  \nthe practitioners. Able to blend frost, flame and electricity in devestating attacks, he was  \nquite possibly the one Agent the Aldmeri cherished more than the rest in this excursion, if  \nonly because it would be terribly difficult to replace him. Kairuna, taller, and skinnier  \nthan most of his fellows, towered over the massives with his stoic, quiet demeanor. Even  \nwhen hardpressed he showed no signs of anger or resentment, and seemed always a more   \ncondescending happiness than anything else. Always one to smile or laugh silently, Kairuna  \nalways eminated a calm sort of arrogance rather than the boastful, confrontational kind that  \nhis fellows oozed. It was this approach to life which had elivated him, and ultimately caused   \nhis life to spiral into what is about to happen..\n\nChapter 1: When Things Go Wrong..\n\nLate in the morning, approximately near luncheon for those who had the time, Kairuna was out  \npatrolling with his entourage of three Battlemages, Aldmeri sentinels garbed in gilded Elven  \narmor, all heavily enchanted and perfected by the finest Imperial blacksmith. They spoke calmly  \nexpecting no form of trouble on this routine chore.\n\n\"And how's the children doing, Teria?\" Kairuna asked of his Lieutenant, a golden haired High  \nElf lass with piercing eyes and a tight mouth. \"Are they well and on their way in the Arts?\"  \nKairuna, ever inquisitive took to asking mindlessly simple questions to pass the time, as he  \nalways sought to inform himself. \"They are well, General. Teepa and Tlori are excelling, but  \nMakus is having difficulty with Restoration.. He seems more intune with Alteration and sword  \nplay versus anything else..\" With a sad sigh, the woman shrugged \"I don't know what to do..\"\n\n\"Send him to the Battlemage training. I will recommend him to Sargeant Flaxus.That Imperial   \nmay be dumb as a sow, but he'll train your boy in frontal combat as well as any other.\"   \nKairuna then smiled and turned, placing a hand on the womans shoulder. \"You have my word, I  \nwill speak to him and arrange this. Do not worry!\" Teria then smiled, although it looked more  \nlike a grimace than anything else, and she nodded. The other two exchanged a knowing smile,  \nand Kairuna nodded to them aswell. \"And you, Bachti? Caius?\" The men, both stocky and of more  \nphysical build. Twins, identicle and both jokers with a pension to boast when they should   \nremain silent, replied in unison \"Fine, m'lo-\" they had barely spoke when from a burrow to  \ntheir right came a rushing of spiders. Not the bothersome kind, neither. Huge hulking beasts  \neasily twice the size of a cow crashed into the pair, taking them down and to their demise   \nwithout a fight. To their dismay however, that demise was an injection of potent poisons that  \nleft them so disfigured that seconds later, bloated and dead, they resembled mutations rather   \nthan High Elves. In retaliation, Kairuna exploded into movement, whirling about and unleashing  \nfrom his left hand a torrent of flames. The spout burned and licked at all in its path, incinerating  \nmany insects, plants, birds and spiders alike. Two lay dead by the end but more continued to   \ncome for the remaining two Aldmeri agents. Teria, busy batting away one behemoth with mace  \nand spell worked feverantly to keep her unprotected face away from prying giant mandibles,   \nwhile Kairuna, dressed in only simple Thalmor robes, worked calmly to eradicate the burrow.   \nSo busy was he that he had not noticed the loss of his final companion until a beast came  \ndown on him from behind, dripping and foaming its toxins along his hooded head. Working to  \nto squirm himself around and douse the arachnid with flame, he had barely done so when another  \ncame upon him, lashing his face apart with one terrible foreleg, creating a sizeable gash  \nfrom his high cheekbone to his upper lip, splitting the skin in such a way that the bone  \nbeneath was exposed. Blood poured down and the spider once again took initiative, this time  \nclawing at his eye. Barely managing to pull away, the arachnid then spat a paralytic neurotoxin  \nat his face, splashing an eye and blinding it immediately. Now half incapacitated, the elf fell  \nback, angered to the point it showed. \"By frost of my right hand!\" he shouted, dousing the  \nbeast in a freezing spray that crystalized it on contact. \"And flame from the left!\" he continued  \nnow gushing searing fire from his other palm. \"And by the storms I shall rain from the skies!  \nAll of Tamriel.. Will know this day!\" And bringing his palms together, the magics blended,  \ncreating a trifecta of energies. Flame, frost and electricity gushed forth, utterly melting  \nthe remaining hoard of monstrosities in such a way that the landscape shuttered, peeling  \naway from the act as if in fear. When none remained and even the wildlife had fled, Kairuna  \nfell back against a stone, gasping. He clutched his face in one hand, trying to sew the flesh   \nwith his minial Restoration abilities. It barely worked.. The scar resulting would be perminant.  \nHis eye would forever remain blind.. \".. I'm sorry, Teria... I'm so sorry..\" was the last thing he said,  \nbefore falling into a deep, troubled sleep.\n\n  \n  \n\n"}
