It was amazingly fun to write.","content":"Ode to Pollution  \n  \n  \n  \nEarth Days come and Earth Days go  \nBut this is the one that we'll all know  \nIn an age where green is considered kind  \nAnother has something else in mind  \nRecycling cans for a tenth of penny?\u0026nbsp;  \nPlanting trees for the benefit of many?\u0026nbsp;  \nThese are the notions of hippies and fools  \nBut soon he'll show them all who rules  \n  \nRoaring down the street in a vehicular monstrosity  \nBlack smoke belches from his Chevy Vega, circa 1970  \nA jolly wave is given to all he sees\u0026nbsp;  \nAs passersby drop to their knees  \nTheir lungs fill with black and their faces turn blue  \nBut what else do you expect monoxide to do?\u0026nbsp;  \n  \nWhen not wasting paper or laughing at yuppies  \nHe's igniting coal fires and kicking cute puppies  \nChemical contaminates are simply sublime  \nPoisoning reservoirs one at a time  \nClear-cutting forests sounds like a lark  \nWhile a chainsaw symphony tears through Central Park  \n  \nHe's called a criminal for thinking outside the box  \nFor releasing a deadly, airborne pox  \nBut he looks so fashionable when he works  \nAnd being evil has its perks  \n  \nSo hard to choose from snake-skin belts  \nWhich one most accentuates his wardrobe of pelts?  \nHis boots are cheetah, made from a king  \nHis coat is lion hide, it's truly stunning  \nGloves fashioned from rabbit, albino  \nA cane tipped with the horn of rare black rhino\n\n\u0026nbsp;He's seen as the enemy of green and peace,  \nThe minds of the ignorant so easy to fleece  \nFor pollution isn't limited to the seas or the skies  \nLiberating people from new-age propaganda and lies  \nTruly, he is a leader, a manipulative son of a bleep  \nHerding the masses of mindless sheep  \n  \nThis rogue, this Pyke, the enemy of environmental law  \nHe's a clever corrupter of any you saw  \nCFCs are nothing to ban  \nWithout ozone you'd get a better tan  \nBPA was a tactic scare  \nDesigned by those always shouting \"Beware!\"  \nOne can trust the powers-that-be  \nWithout infringing personal liberty  \n  \nHis ranks swell with a generation lost  \nDisenfranchised souls society tossed  \nThe youth are the future in this deciding war  \nCured of their brainwashing, they shout \"No more!\"\u0026nbsp;  \n  \nHe's not the monster, he is the solution  \nWhile making a buck from global pollution  \nIt's expensive funding business affairs  \nWhile putting on magnificent airs  \nHis pawns can assume the blame for the brawl  \nHe'll live it up while they all fall  \n  \nBut where are the heroes on this day?  \nThey were paid to stay out of the way  \nEven those who fight for right  \nTurn corrupt in the scope of his blight  \nAnd when all is over, said and done  \nHe will have won and had his fun  \nVictory is his, the fox quite slinky  \nDisappearing to perfect the weaponized twinky  \n  \n\n"}
