# Colder than Snow, Warmer than Fur

This is just me venting out in poetry. This was not written for anyone.
Probably shouldn't have spent my morning reading through the love stories on the Love Gives Me Hope website.
Oh well.

_There is not a day that passes_
_Where I don't remember your name._
_It's like a chill that keeps me cold_
_And continues to make me lame._

_The touch of your body gave me_
_Armor to make it through each day._
_Your words were like a thick fur coat_
_That always warmed my heart. Today_

_Feels like every other day, where_
_I only look forward to sleep,_
_Because, when I'm awake, there is_
_Nothing I'd rather do but weep._

_They say that love conquers any_
_Wall or obstacle life can throw,_
_Yet perhaps the soul who said this_
_Must have been immortal, you know?_

_You're gone. You're dead. You've passed the line_
_That's been destined for every soul._
_How I would mangle my own health_
_To hear your voice again, you know?_

_You always said that life was funny_
_Because its jokes are always cruel._
_It gives you lemons when you're smart,_
_Then sugar because you're a fool._

_As I sit upon the snow that_
_Surrounds your old, withered tombstone,_
_Our memories chill my sad heart_
_More than nature's worst cold. Alone_

_We are. Just you and me. You are_
_My light in times of dark, you know?_
_Perhaps, if I wait here long enough,_
_You'll wake up and hold me in the snow._

_Rest in peace, my love._
