# True to Form: Prologue

#1 of True to Form

Something I written on FA.

She sat behind a glass workdesk, her suit slimly accentuating her lines.   She wore a sunny smile, her head tilted a bit to the side.  Her hair matched the suit, both sun-kissed yellow.

"Thank you for coming, sir, and welcome.  I take it you are here to test are latest software?"

"Yes m'am.  My temp office suggested I should come here."

Her hands took a slim folder from a stack and opened it. "Ah yes, here you are." She ran a well-manicured finger down the top paper.  "I see!"  She looked up and beamed at me.  "Well, I think we can welcome you into our fold immediately."

"Thank you, m'am."

"Here at Kimera Enterprises, we wish to provide the best experience in gaming possible."

I nodded.

"Because of this, we want to get as much information as possible."  She turned around to pick up a slim e-tablet and handed it to me.  "Please answer all of the questions, sir, and we'll get your product as quickly as possible."

I thanked her and skimmed though the questions.  I answered all of them, even a few weird ones involving my sexuality.  When I asked, she assured me that it is part of the infographics the company wanted to collect.

"Everything is confidential, sir," she said.

Once done, I handed the tablet back over to her, when she deftly connected it to her computer and uploaded all of the information.

"Thank you, sir," she chirped brightly.  "At this point, due to legalities, I am ordered to inform you that the software will not be available for another two weeks."

"What?"

"Do not worry, sir," she said, flashing that sunny smile again.  "We will provide the best service possible.  I am sure my superiors will not deny giving you a bonus for coming so quickly, and so eagerly."  She punched at her keyboard, and nodded.  "Yes, it will take two weeks for them to process the information you gave us and to provide you with a perfect installation of the program."

I didn't like the idea of processing, but said nothing.  After all, being a beta tester of brand new software doesn't come easily.

"Alright then," the lady said, focusing towards me.  "The order has been processed, and you'll receive the software in two weeks."

"Can I at least ask what the software is?" I asked.  "I mean, the temp office was very vague."

Another sunshine grin.  "Only the very best in simulation, sir.  So real you cannot tell if it is real or not."

I nodded.  Awesome.
