{"sf1_id":419174,"sf2_id":"pnG3yZwn","title":"The Fox of the Frozen North","author":"Foxpiper","words":249,"posted_at":"2012-08-19T15:40:00.000Z","tags":["Arch fox","Fox","Ice","Nature","Poem","Snow","Winter","arctic"],"url":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/419174-the-fox-of-the-frozen-north","original_url":"https://sofurry.com/s/pnG3yZwn","image_url":"https://cdn.sofurryfiles.com/submissions/thumbnails/0a/df/0adf4285-d1d0-4cad-95e2-b073bdabc26f","description":"This poem was requested by Arch Fox.","content":"The Fox of the Frozen North\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nBy\n\nFoxpiper\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nFrom the cold, silent forests below winter's pale serene,  \nCame a creature of white beauty along the snowy scene;  \nWith eyes of dark amber and a nose of obsidian grand,  \nRarely had such a handsome beast blessed this frigid land.\n\nHe wandered quietly across the snow-covered fields,  \nWhere the vast, frosty ground lays bare and ice never yields;  \nWith every soft step, the fox moved freely without a care,  \nLeaving nothing but fragile paw prints that lead to nowhere.\n\nThe arctic winds from the brumal sky whispered in his ears,  \nOf ancient times and archaic rhymes from long, forgotten years;  \nAnd yet these haunting tales did very little to address,  \nFeelings of isolation amongst the wintry loneliness.\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe cool air gave no comfort as the fox traversed the ground,  \nSensing naught but the chilling breeze that wisped all around;  \nThis arcane, frostbitten landscape was what he called home,  \nA desolate place of solitude with endless miles to roam.\u0026nbsp;\n\nBut all was not lost within the great expanse of white,  \nAs snowflakes silently fell from their firmamental flight;  \nFor this was the fox's domain, the place of his birth,  \nWhere he could venture the very land for all it's worth.\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe vulpine frolicked in the snow, filled with newfound joy,  \nNo longer did he walk with sadness, gripped by misery's ploy;  \nThus, with determination, the creature traveled forth,  \nFor he was a wondrous beast, a fox of the frozen north.\n\n  \n  \n\n"}
