# Your web

A poem of mine. Sadly, this was indeed a part of my life, but finally I'm free

There was a time, long ago when I saw some good in you,

As the others shunned you, I drifted closer, seeing a piece of me in your lonely eyes,

Foolishly, I became yours, innocent and unassuming as a small child.

So quickly, so unsuspectingly, I walked into your web,

Feeling the long white tendrils of this false love twist around me, entrapping me,

It was the time when I thought you and I were like a pure white lily, lovely, and pure.

However, soon I realized that you were not who I once thought.

Your once kind eyes were now icy cold, pupils slit,

Your once warm grasp chilling me to the core.

I try to escape your web in futility, it's far too late to be saved,

As I struggle, the white lily is splattered with the blood of my aching heart.

Now, I see him in the distance, a boy like the man you used to be.

I run to him, breaking free of the strands that restrain me,

I fall into his arms, only to feel him let go.

Finally, a year passes and I think my heartache's gone.

But just when I feel I'm safe, I see you running toward me, vengeance in your eyes,

As I flee, looking on I see a beast of metal roaring toward my body.

I close my eyes and smile, finally at peace.

I've finally escaped your terrifying web, you no longer own me,

You can only watch as flower and stem are separated,

Sinking into the dark red.
