I know I have posted a few things that have come out of nowhere, but this is entirely out of left field for me. It seem to walk a line between relationships and spirituality. I don't know if this is a strength or not, but it is at least something.\nThe only consolation to myself is that it felt natural coming out of me, so take that for what it's worth.","content":"My eyes open ever wider.\n\nNow that they've tasted the air,\n\nI am soaring to newer heights\n\nlong awaited and forever promised.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nSelling myself can finally stop,\n\nnow that I captain my soul.\n\nLight soaks through the veil,\n\nrevealing answers once hidden.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nSparks catch along the walls,\n\nsplashing whirlwinds of inspiration.\n\nThe path aglow pulses with new life,\n\nfeeding ambitions once cautiously stifled.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nWalking forth with open arms\n\nI extend a smile to hold you up.\n\nFollow me if you will,\n\nto an old world made new.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nI won't hear any objections;\n\nburdens have already been paid.\n\nYou've nothing but to benefit,\n\nand still you slap my hand away.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nPride clouds your stare,\n\nas your eyes devour my sincerity.\n\nTight lipped and cruel,\n\nyou've left my world of light.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nDon't leave me to myself,\n\nin a world so blinding.\n\nI need your guidance more than ever,\n\nlest I misstep in a lonely paradise.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nYour words are always strong,\n\nbut they weaken within my feeble frame.\n\nI am stretched so very thin,\n\nnow that my anchor has dropped behind.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nOur chain rusts and weakens;\n\npulled until it snaps clean.\n\nI reach out for your link,\n\nbut the light has already blinded me.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe new world has taken me,\n\nbrilliant and filled with promises anew.\n\nThe dark of before lingers underfoot,\n\nfading evermore as I step further forward.\n\nYour voice still echoes to me,\n\nheld by a string in memories.\n\nBittersweet reminders of us,\n\nwhispering old lies back to me.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nDetermined, I hold my head up high,\n\nforging a new self apart from you.\n\nThe tiny shadows trailing me fade,\n\nquieting in the still of heaven.\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Hound's Poetry Corner","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/448228-the-pit.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/795811-lay-me-down.json"}}
