It was that time around winter where the villagers were staying in most of the time,   \nthe other half gathering food from certain areas of the Everfree. The ground was cold, frozen,   \nand partially buried in snow. Hence the shortage of food, such as grass, berries, flowers.   \nBeing so scarce, the families within the village were rationed a small amount for each night,   \nhaving only just enough to get by.  \nThe smell of burning pine, melting metal, and spices filled the air. New tools were being   \nmade by the blacksmith, for this summer much work will have to be tended to. Being so deep   \nin the forest, only rays of light could be seen during the daytime. The trees blocked most of   \nthe sun out of this area, causing any activity taken to happen during the day. Schooling,   \ngathering, etc. It's still snowing at this time, lights from lanterns able to be seen through the   \nwindows. If the individual homes had any. The homes, consisting of either caves or small   \ncabin shelters. Some were more well constructed than others, due to the lack of material and   \ncivilization. Many of the streetmarkets and shops were closed, though, also limiting the   \namount of personal items needed. If they were to be open at all, it would be only for one day   \nevery two weeks. Parasprites passed through not too long ago, causing even more damage   \nand only putting the village behind in events. Night time was about over, bright orange rays   \nof sunlight gleaming through small holes in the foggy clouds. The ledges on the homes were   \ndwelling with icicles, water not dripping from them whatsoever. A morning breeze was   \nsweeping silently throughout the village, only making the weather that much more severe,   \ncarrying out the cold of the night. School time was almost in   \nsession, it's students and teacher (or teachers) having only forty-five minutes left to get   \nready. There were no breakfasts here, only dinners. Some of the younger villagers, the ones   \nwho had no wings or magic, were forced to leave for school earlier in order to arrive on time.   \nThey were escorted by their parents, just in case. Occurrences have happened where some of   \nthe youngers and elders have disappeared without a trace, but at least with the elders with   \nthem they have a better chance at being safe. There were a number of breeds within this   \nvillage. Such as Alicorns, Pegasi, Unicorns, Griffons. All were welcomed here, as long as they   \nwere to not cause any harm. Though, in objection to that, there are many passerbys that are   \nmore rarely seen than most. And in exception to that, he is a common resident. As he wakes   \nto get up and get ready for school, his eyes closed tight and yawning wide. His bed being   \nmade up of linen, twigs, and leaves. He stretches his wings from the base to the tips of his   \nwingfeathers, black claws extracting from the digits of his paws. He climbs from his bed, eyes   \nweary from the night's rest. Making his way to the doorway, which a Griffon stood, his back   \nhooves clicked against the old wooden floor. Some patches of the floor were more sturdy   \nthan others, rotting underneath the wooden panels and in a manner, the panels creaked   \nunder his weight. Even for how small and weightless he appeared to be. The Griffon, herself,   \nstood at a height about 2 feet taller than he, a slight smile on her beak as she watched him.   \nHer light brown and beige feathers seemed to glisten to him for some reason, even though   \nthe sun barely shown in their home. She was his mother, for what he understood and went   \nalong with. He never really asked her about the differences between them.. She cared and   \nlooked after him, that's all that mattered. Her wings opened a bit for a morning hug before   \nhaving him brush his teeth. As they hug, she uses her beak to groom his mane before the day   \nreally begins. It was somewhat of a strange connection, his thoughts refraining on the only   \nthing that the two have in common is their wings.. Tonight may just be the night he asks, out   \nof curiosity. After all of his morning tasks were complete, she ensured he stayed warm for   \nthe travel and lead him outside. Using her right wing to drape over him, she blocked out a   \nmajor part of the windy, cold weather. The snow underneath them making it bad enough,   \ntheir tails cold from dragging them every so often. It seemed she didn't mind having to look   \nafter him at all, no matter how much of a pest he thought he was at times. In almost an   \ninstant, she stopped in their path in nearly reaching the school. A look of worry in her golden   \nyellow eyes, she frowned and looked around frantically, her eyes darting to and fro. Finding   \nwhat she was looking for, she hurried him into an underground cave. The wind picked up   \ndramatically it what seemed to be a matter of seconds as we made our way further into the   \ncave. Approaching a few lit lanterns carried by the cave's owners, she left him there. Having   \nno idea what was going on.. She asked them to keep him here until the weather died down,   \nno matter the circumstances. This was the last he saw of her, the flame of the flickering that   \nwas his only way to see the one he called mother, the flame that made him feel so warm and   \nat home as she did.. Then it was gone. She was trained in stopping storms such as these, so   \nhis mind was telling him he should stay put. Stay down here, where it's safer. But his heart...   \nit was telling him something was not right. Managing to struggle away from the two, he was   \non his way to the outside of the cave home. The wind became more and more intense as he   \nneared the exit, paws and hooves dug into the ground as much as he could get them to.   \nFighting against the harsh winds, he felt as if he just got lost.. thrown into another world that   \nis far from this one. As light as a feather, being carried away so easily... So.. Helpless.  \nWhen he awoke.. it seemed like everything he had. Everything he had to live for up to this   \npoint, it was gone. There were no sounds.. it was a stillness he will never forget.  \nHe unburied himself from the dust, rock and ash from the destruction. The trees, all burned   \nto nothing. Their homes, rubbel and splinters. And to this day, he takes after the one he   \ncalled his mother. His flame of life that keeps him going..   \nHe is Skye Dance... The Last Dance.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\n  \n  \n\n"}
