The face I've gazed into for so long is the same as ever, if only slightly paler skin now. Her long hair is now as white as my fur, her eyes now blue. I love her appearance in every season.

She offers her hand to me. I slowly take her hand into my own paw; at first touch her skin is as cold as ice, but it slowly warms as I draw her closer to me. She comments how warm I am as she rests her head on my chest, her other hand hanging on my shoulder. Her body is still colder than mine, but only heat is building up inside of me when she's this close to me. I drape my free hand around her lower back. I whisper into her ear "ready to continue our dance?"

She responds, "Always."

Our bodies part slightly, our eyes lock on each other. I took a deep breath before I start to lead.

Like the snowflake our dance is slow and delicate. Our hands never let go as we move around the entire ballroom. Her dress forms grooves in the snow that reflect the light from the dress. No matter how many grooves her dress creates or how deep my hind paw dug into the snow; whenever we came back to the same spot the ground would be smooth again.

My nose twitches. I cross my eyes and notice a snowflake has landed on the tip. Her attention goes to it as well. We watch as the flake slowly melts away. Another snowflake lands, this time on her nose. Our roles switch as we watch the snowflake. It doesn't melt though; the artistic design of the flake remains intact on her nose. As beautiful as it is, it was a distraction. I come close to her face and let out a soft exhale by her nose. The snowflake melts, leaving a small drop of water. I didn't want to take my hands off her so I quickly lean in again and lick away the water. This elicites a giggle from her. I chuckle back.

Time is irrelevant to us. Minutes, days, weeks... I can never tell how long it's been when we start to dance. I'm destined to dance with her for eternity; a few months are hardly noticeable to either of us. The only indication of time is the sound of that bell.

It began to ring.

My ears twitch at the sound. That time again already? We separate from each other to allow the season to change.

A drop of water lands on my head. The icicles above are melting. It starts off as a few drops of water but it quickly turns into rain. The season of life was coming to start the cycle over again.

The walls of ice melt to reveal a forest of flowering trees; their blossoming branches stretch overhead. The petals would occasionally float to the ground. The snow beneath us melts away to reveal a garden of flowers of various shapes and colors.

Color returns to my fur; a golden hue like those of sunflowers.

I look ahead and smile. Her white hair is now brown, and her eyes now green. Color returns to her skin and her dress now complimented the flowers that bloomed around us. I admire her new appearance as I do with the others.

Winter will always hold something special for me, as it is the only season when the color of my fur matches the color of her hair. That sense of complimenting each other's appearance makes me wish that winter could last just a little longer.

There's no need to feel sad about it though; in time winter will come again. For now it's time to enjoy another season and the beauty that comes along with it... and the beauty that comes along with her.

We smile as we approach each other again.

The Dance of Spring was to begin.

"}
