The animal races of their world took  \non the role of their human predecessors and became know  \nas Anthropomorphic Furries (or Furs for short).  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; There existed such a wide variety of Furs that  \nnaming them all would take from now until the  \nend of time. Now unlike our well known planet  \nEarth where creatures such as Dragons, Miniatures,  \nand the like where just myth and legend, they  \nflourished here. But this was not always how it was..  \n  \nSometime in the distant future of Earth, a man by  \nthe name of Jase Foxx tampered into Trans. Warp  \ntheory and stumbled across, almost by accident  \na portal into an unknown place. Now the trans. warp  \ntheory was designed to offer quick travel from  \ngalaxy to galaxy in a matter of days, but what  \nhappened had nothing to do with space travel.  \n  \nThe gate seemed stable enough and appeared like a  \nworm hole in science fiction novels. This made  \nJase stop and think of what might be on the other  \nside. Jase sifted through a number of possibilities,  \nit could be just that, a worm hole that leads to  \nanother place where a similar if not identical worm  \nhole exists, much like the famed black hole theory.  \nOr perhaps this gate somehow defies time itself and  \nleads to the past. He knew whatever it lead to it  \nwasn't the future, simply because you can't go to  \nwhat hasn't been. But what it really was Jase never  \ncame close to.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; After several hours of studying, the gate fluxed and  \nclosed. Jase took note of the readings and what he  \ndid to cause the gate to open and made plans to  \nfurther study this new gate he created. For many  \ndays Jase studied and studied but nothing was good  \nenough to tell him exactly what it was or, where it  \nwent, so he decided that he was going to travel  \nthrough the gate.  \n  \nJase devised an instrument that would send a  \ntrans-flux operation to his computer system in his lab  \nto open the gate at command and named it a  \n'gate key'. Jase gathered his courage and  \nstepped into the unknown. The feeling was similar  \nto a head rush but it lasted only a split second,  \nand then Jase found himself in a land that appeared  \nlike Earth but it was apparent it was after some  \nsort of war. Buildings, streets, and other  \nstructures were in utter ruin.  \n  \nJase first thought that the gate somehow did in  \nfact send him to the future but that was shortly  \nhalted when Jase caught a glimpse of a shadowed  \nfigure walking towards him. Jase was too full of  \nfear to run so he stood there as still as an iron  \nbeam and watched as the figure walked into closer  \nview, the figure was what seemed at best guess a  \nhumanoid animal of sorts. He was obviously a wolf  \nby his face and other noticeable features.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; He stood of average height and didn't appear  \nto be all that well built. He only wore a tattered  \nloincloth, and a black leather collar which  \nblended in well against his black fur.  \n  \n\"Greetings stranger.\"  \n  \n\"Uhhhh... Hi\" was all Jase could manage to utter.  \n  \nThe being looked around as night began to fall on  \nthe remains of the city.  \n  \n\"Come, we must seek shelter for the night before  \nthey come.\"  \n  \n\"But I cant leave here. The  \nsurroundings could be better, after all back on  \nEarth he was at least vaguely known for his work and  \nwell liked by his few friends. Yet here he had a  \nchance to start over and begin life anew.  \n  \n\"Well, I guess ill go with you then if you don't  \nmind my company.\"  \n  \nThe creature smiled back at Jase and nodded.  \n  \n\"We can stay in that building across the plaza,  \nafter that we will have to get you out of the  \ncity and someplace safe.\"  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp;  \n\"My name is Hamill G. Through  \nopenings in the floor above him, he could see fine crystal  \nchandeliers hanging from what remained of the roof.  \nThe fine frescos that decorated it were of both humans  \nand of furs, some playing, some embracing, some fighting.  \n  \nThe humans in the paintings seemed a bit odd to Jase, there  \nwas just something about them that he couldn't explain to himself.  \n  \n\"I see you are admiring this place.\"  \n  \n\"Yes, it sure must have been a place of great beauty in its  \nheyday.\"  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \"It certainly was, I can remember coming here when I  \nwas just a pup. No one ever saw them  \nafter that. The panic from this place quickly spread to surrounding  \ncommunities. It was decided by the council to destroy the entire city.\"  \n  \n\"They destroyed an entire city?\"  \n  \n\"Yes. I know its hard to tell from looking about this place now,  \nbut at one time we were a advanced civilization.\"  \n  \n\"I can imagine. This place even in ruin is grand beyond belief.\"  \n  \n\"Well, the council made its decision, and the \"Rrendar\"  \nWhich is planetary defense and security carried out the order.  \nAn orbiting weapons platform took aim at the middle of the town,  \nand let rip with its main Mezaton cannons. Half a Terrawatt  \nof Plasma energy descended upon the city and all of those who  \nlived within it. With a deafening crack of thunder as even the air  \nwas superheated in a flash. The city vanished in a blinding flash.  \nThe shockwave was felt for well over two hundred miles in all  \ndirections. It was odd that the sound the blast made was  \na sad a soulful moan. It was said by my grandparents who  \nlived twenty miles from the other town, that it sounded like  \nthousands of voices crying out all at once, then they were  \nsilenced in an instant.\"  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \"I understand that must have been have a terrible loss.  \nDid they ever figure out what had caused it?\"  \n  \n\"I don't know. Every day more and more  \nof my people were missing.\"  \n  \nA flash caught their eyes as they sat there talking.
