This poem can be about whoever you really care about, whoever that may be. A close friend, a family member, whoever is a loved one in your heart, picture them when you read this. Enjoy.

_What If..._

What if I told you that I lie to you?
That's right, I lie to you.
I know it hurts, but it's true.
I'm not lying this time, I swear.
But I do tell you the truth when I say
I don't always tell the truth
Though I always try.

I lie to you
Every time I say
"I don't love you"
And when I say
"I don't care about you"
You can bet that I'm lying.
"I hate you"
Is probably the biggest lie I've said
Although "I can't stand being near you"
Is pretty close too.

No matter how much I try
I'm not perfect
So don't expect me to be
Because I don't expect you
To be perfect either.

You should know by now
That you light up my life
And that isn't a lie.
