Uploading old stuff. This was originally completed on November 19th, 2012. A male and female coyote named Paw and Sparkle are sitting on a creek. What will happen? Find out! :3

The air was full of the faint musty smell of fresh snow and the pungent odor of urine. There was a creek that was iced over. A male coyote named Paw sniffed the riverbank. A female coyote was lying down near the twisty trees. Her name was Sparkle. Paw put down his, well, front-right paw onto the icy riverbank and it cracked below him. Paw instantly pulled his paw back and shook it off.

"Oh, okay then," said Paw, grinning, "Anyhoo..."

"You're not going to jump that," said Sparkle, "why would you?"

     "Because reasons," said Paw, grinning.

"Last time I tried that I fell in," said Sparkle.

"Did you not have your awesomeness with you?"

     "No."

     "That's WHY."

"What does awesomeness have to do with ANYTHING?!" shouted Sparkle.

"Well, for one thing, I'm awesome, and you're not."

"Prove to me that you're awesome in a way that does not involve you jumping over the creek!"

But Paw wasn't listening. He got on his haunches, with the cool white snow tickling his underbelly, and leaped into the air. Halfway across the creek he fell like a stone. Paw whimpered as he fell beneath the ice into the water.

Sparkle rushed to the creek to save him. She had only just met the male 'yote, and although he was acting like a jerk of an omega she couldn't bear to see him die.

Luckily, Paw was doggy paddling and was still on the surface. Thinking quickly, Sparkle opened her mouth and bit down on the scruff of his neck, as if he were her own son. It didn't hurt Paw a bit.

Soon, Paw was dragged out of the freezing cold water.

Paw shook off right in front of Sparkle.

     "Typical male," scoffed Sparkle.

Paw was now panting and wagging his tail happily.

"That was fun!" beamed Paw, "and who are you calling typical?"

"You, obviously," remarked Sparkle, "Did you ever stop being a puppy or did your mom drop you on your head?"

"Eh, probably," laughed Paw, "Listen, I gotta go get back to my den. My pack is waiting for me. See ya around! Thanks for saving my life!"

And with that, Paw dashed away through the twisty trees.

Little did Sparkle know that they would be seeing more of each other.
