Something that I'm working on

Ok. Well this is something that came about from a dream one night. What I have so far is what I've managed to remember from my very short short-term memory. I probably will finish it sometime. Also not sure about what species I would use either. Comments and advice greatly appreciated.

Untitled Fiction Story #1

Everyone in the village knew him. Brahm is his name. He was the blacksmith; a big hulking brute of a man. He had to be almost seven feet tall, and about 28 stone. Even with his huge size, he would not hesitate to assist anyone in the village. He had helped me on many an occasion, especially with heavy lifting.

Where are my manners? Allow me to introduce myself. I am Thon, the town baker. My breads are well known in the village, as well as my pastries. Everyone gets their cakes from me, and if I do say so myself, I have also made many a wedding cake. But let me get back to our smithy. The way he works with the blistering heat and the metals, the art that comes out of his shop is amazing. Some in the village would say it is more than just skill, which I believe.

I have watched him many times perform his craft. The flames and heat seem to move in time like music. On several occasions, I swore I have seen something alive in the flames, sometimes a pair of eyes watching me. Some would think I was just overcome by the heat. But I believe that our blacksmith is more than he seems. I have tried to ask him about where he was from, but every time I do, he stays completely silent.
