It's what happens when you write about former pirates down on their luck . . . remembering the glory days, lost love and friends of old.
Enjoy.

_Catch the wind in mainsails high,_

_Race the dark and stormy skies._

_Land Ahoy! To port we ride,_

_And there we drink our hearts to nigh._

_'Twas a pirates' ship we met,_

_Swords were drawn and bowstrings bent._

_Fight and die! Did we cry,_

_And on the crew gave we death._

_Catch a lass's kiss so sweet,_

_In the meadow did we meet._

_Oh, Aye! I love you so,_

_Please stay with me 'till I go._

_I lay here dying but at rest,_

_A cutlass blade through my chest._

_Oh! I am sorry to tell,_

_That I won't return to your breast._

_Even as the light now fades,_

_Still I see your flawless face._

_Kiss me, love! I'll see you soon,_

_I'll be watching down from grace._

_Catch the wind in mainsails high,_

_Race the dark and stormy skies._

_Land Ahoy! To port we ride,_

_And there we drink our cares to nigh._
