Poem on love and such

Here my heart sits, in a box high up on a shelf
all alone, save for its broken self.
Isolated from all the rest.
Perhaps, in the end, that is only for the best.

On it's side _fragile_ is stamped in red,
but most never payed any attention to what it said.
They never treated it with tender care as they should,
so now it is nothing more than another damaged good.

But one day you found were I had taken flight,
and led me gently out once more into the light.
I lay shattered deep inside
in my refuge to finally from the world hide

All the kings horses, and all of his men
couldn't ever hope to put me back together again
Yet you alone picked up my heart as if it were an angle's feather,
and somehow put all the countless pieces back together.

You may be as common as a village farmer,
but to me you are my knight in shinning armor
Who rescued me form the insidious blackness of my mind
carrying me off into a new dawn as we left it behind

With every word you staunched my endless pain
and with every kiss you ensured that your love would remain
As I watch you sleeping soundlessly across from the bureau
I can't help but smile at the sight of my long lost hero
