This was actually based off a situation that happened not too long ago. Just a lot was going on in my mind after this happened.

It was a clear sunny day
Just doing what i did most
    Take a walk into town
Since it kept me out of the house
    Plus it clears my mind
    Whenever im preoccupied
    I stop at a stoplight
    To catch my breath
    And from nowhere
    A stranger approached me
And had asked me a question
It had to do with an achievement that i had got
And asked me if i was the one in the newspaper
I respond to him by saying yes
    Suddenly he got teary eyed
Tells me that i'm an inspiration
    And a hero
    I don't know why
    But for some strange reason
    I really felt uncomfortable
He took off after 20 minutes of talking to me
And for maybe 10 minutes after
My mind went from preoccupied to dead silent
Out of all the people on earth
What made him consider me a hero?
Im just like the ordinary person
Yet he saw something in me that i could not see
    There are people with professions
    Such as policeman, firefighters, military
Real heroes that risk their lives everyday
To protect the people from harm
Yet im not any of those professions
Im no hero or a saint
    Im not a police officer
    Who everyday risks his life
to protect innocent civilians from harm
    Or a fireman,
    Who battles fires
And fights his way through fires
    To save a life
I guess growing up, i was pretty quiet
And i always kept a low profile
    When it came to achievements
Yet im just an ordinary person
    Just like everyone else
Or is that just my mind that keeps telling me that?
It just feels so strange to me
Maybe the answers will reveal themselves to me
    Sometime in the future
