I Begged for it, to  \nease my mind pain from knowing of Betty's body pain. Home Duty was a  \nlot like Kitchen Duty only a smaller kitchen for just a few Humans.  \nBut like a lot of what Humans told mixes, one part of Duty got smaller  \nwhile most of it got bigger. Now there were half a dozen rooms for  \ndifferent Humans to eat, sleep, sit and talk, or play games in. I was  \na fox; I ate, slept and knelt in one den; why did Humans need so many  \nrooms?  \n  \nDon't argue, Kevin. Just Learn and Obey. This Training was to  \nKeep the Rooms Clean. More hot water in deep trays, but different soap.  \nIt smelled bad, what was it doing to my fur? Put some new soap in the  \nwater, push a cloth through it, push it with both front paws out of the  \nwater so it was a little wet, rub the floor. Back in the water. Rub all  \nthe floor. And the walls. And above my head. Ceiling. Rub. The water  \ngot dark. Take the deep tray to the kitchen, the sink, put the water  \nin, make sure it went down the hole. The Drain. More hot water in the  \ndeep tray. More new soap. More Rub.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; I saw the water get dark; the floors, walls and ceilings got  \nwet then less dark. If I did Wash the Walls one day the water didn't  \nget dark the next day. The walls and ceilings were Clean. The floors  \ndidn't stay Clean; Humans and mixes walked on them. I was given thick  \ntowels about a meter long and three-quarters of a meter wide to put at  \nthe Doors. They were Throw Rugs. If Humans rubbed their boots or mixes  \nrubbed their back paws on them the floor stayed Clean longer. I wanted  \neveryone to rub on the Throw Rugs. But what do I do when the Throw Rugs  \nget dirty?  \n  \nI learned about Clothes Washer. Some Humans had more than one  \nso I would beg to know which I could use for Throw Rugs that had been  \non the floor. I was told it was good I could use these boxes, I didn't  \nhave to clean Rugs by paw like the floors and walls. I'd been getting  \nstronger every day but this cleaning again and again was very tiring.  \nOften I was sore, a little pain.  \n  \nBut I had the floors clean. Some had square shapes on them that  \ngot shiny as I cleaned, other floors were wood. Now they were clean and  \nI was told another secret. A hole in the wall to put a very long snout,  \nalmost two meters long into. A plate on the wall that made a noise. Rub  \nthe floor with a brush on the snout. Air moved quickly through the  \nsnout into the wall, I could hear it. It was a Whole House Vacuum  \nCleaner. I saw it eat dirt from the floors and Throw Rugs. It was so  \nhungry I had to hold the rugs down or they would stick in the snout.  \nThe wall plate was odd; if I pushed it once the sound was soft, push  \nagain louder, push again very loud, push four times quiet! When Humans  \nweren't looking I pushed the sound soft and rubbed the snout over  \nmyself because the cool air felt good on my fur!  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; So some of Clean the House was fun. What if the floor was more  \nthan two meters from the wall hole? There were more wall holes! They  \nhad a cover that went over the hole when the snout, I mean the hose,  \nwas taken out. I could put the hose in another wall hole and keep  \nrubbing the floor. I just had to go back to the wall plate to turn it  \nback off, so it could sleep. I had it eat softly when I was Dusting  \nthe Furniture or the Bookshelf or the Wall Paintings, very loud when  \nI was cleaning the Whole Floor Rugs.  \n  \nSo I learned to clean the house and laundry. More of Home Duty  \nwas to cook food; I had already learned to wash my paws and wash  \ndishes. I had now learned Home Duty.  \n  \nIt had now been a year since I was seeded and I was as old as  \na Human at eight. I had learned Kitchen Duty and Home Duty, but it was  \nhard for such a young foxboy. As I Grew Up I became stronger and could  \nkeep up with Duty longer before resting. I had been tamed, letting  \nHumans Command me and mixes lead me. I had a new Duty pushed on me  \nwhen Gray Hair the boss Human came to the kennel one morning, took  \nmy leash from Clarence the Chrome Collar wolfboy, and led me through  \na new Hallway to a new door. It had no plate to push Open!  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; Instead Gray Hair spoke to His hand and said some odd words  \nI can't remember. A Human answered Him and they talked for a few  \nseconds. I jumped when I heard a loud buzzing but He just opened the  \ndoor and pulled my whole body through by the leash. I looked around,  \nbut didn't see any walls! For the first time in my young life! And what  \nwere all those scents? My'an Day-Master had led His foxboy Outside!  \n  \nIt was all Too Much Too Soon as I mind-froze again! I was  \ngetting used to it enough that I knelt as Gray Hair let my mouth hang  \nopen for a while. He knew what Outside did to mixes. He teased me,  \n\"Kevin, you wanted to know new things and don't like to Wait. This is  \nwhat you wanted. New. No Wait.\" It took a long time for me to think  \nagain and close my mouth. \"I ... I was wrong, Master. Please, no more  \nNew! Please let your big afraid foxboy go back to Duty!\" I looked and  \nlooked but there were no walls; walls and doors and cages seemed a big  \ncomfort to me now I had lost them. What was out there, waiting for me?  \nWolves to eat me? I started shaking, remembering Betty's buyer. What  \nhad killed Him? It was Out Here! Was it that odd shadow so far away,  \nthat moved but stayed where it was? Was it something behind me, getting  \nready to pounce on my terrified body Now!  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; I turned quickly but there was nothing! We were meters away  \nfrom the kennel! I had no word for ... IT, the thing Out Here; It was  \nbehind me again, ready to bite, but when I turned It was always behind  \nme! Never seen, always so close It would Bite Open Rip Up and later  \nKill me! I could feel Its hot breath on my neck! I shook and whimpered,  \nbut when I looked there was only Gray Hair finally showing mercy to His  \npoor slave foxboy and dragging me bodily back to the Door, to the  \nKennel, to the safety of Cage and Duty and Obey and Submit ...  \n  \n\\* \\* \\*  \n  \nIt took me the whole day to stop shaking. This was worse than  \nChain Up on the Wall and Submit to the Whip! That was Pain, given by  \na Human. But it was something I could see coming at me. Something I  \nknew would stop when I begged to Obey! I couldn't see what was coming  \nOutside! It wouldn't listen, didn't demand Obey. It just wanted me.  \nMy body. My blood. My life.  \n  \nI learned there was a Little Outside, between the Kennel and  \nthe Duty Training Rooms. I had seen it from Kitchen but hadn't known  \nwhat it was. Part of Outside that had been caged by Walls, tamed by  \nWalk Ways, small and not so big freezing scary. Betty and I were  \nallowed to go there sometimes; she showed me there was no one to eat  \nme and I showed her there was someone, even just another mix, who  \nliked her and touched her and didn't push her away.  \n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"KFB","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/532439-kevin-foxboy-08.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/538110-kevin-foxboy-10.json"}}
