Sorry for the long delay, but I do hope it gets you curious s for the rest of the series.
Well, I woke up about 10 in the morning, and was surprised to see the sheath was still there. At first, I thought it was only a dream, and played it off. But, sliding out from under the red satin sheets and off the bed, I made sure to double check. Yep, the fuzzy fur was there, and still kept me covered, though a bit more than last night. Standing, I turned to the Taz alarm clock on the bedside table with a smirk, and hit the button to turn the alarm off as I was up already. Deciding it was best to grab a shower before heading downstairs to get some food, I went to the walk in closet and opened the door.

You see, the closet had a door into the bathroom, making it almost like and ensuite, with a big shower, double vanities, and even a soaker tub for relaxing in. Thankfully, my job was well paying, and, along with Cindy, we had a decent lifestyle. Wagging my tail as I ran the shower, I looked into the mirror...... _wagging.... tail...._ I turned and reached to grab where my tailbone should end, and here was a short, but bushy, tail sprouting out the base of my spine. Chuckling some, I shook my head and got into the shower, the hot water making me wince for a second until it became a bit cooler.

After the shower, I grabbed a towel to dry off and headed downstairs for lunch/breakfast. After all, waking up close to noon had some advantages. Namely the lack of screaming neighbour kids. Anyways, the mahogany doors to the cabinets seemed a bit scratched, but my fingers didn't have claws. At first, I though it just dishes and such being put away, so I put it off for now. Deciding on some grilled cheese and pastrami sandwiches with a bowl of tomato soup, I set to work preparing my meal.

Bending down to grab the frying pan, I noticed something fell off the fridge. Picking it up, it was a note to me from Cindy.

> "John,
>
> Sorry I'm not home when you get this, but I wasn't feeling well and decided to go to the doctor. I wanted to make sure it wasn't because of last night, as it was very nice, but the end kind of hurt some. Anyways, I should be home by about 3 in the afternoon, so don't worry about it.
>
> Love, Cindy." Well, seeing the note, I now understood another possibility of the scratches, as Cindy may have been hurt. At that, I cringed some, but resolved to at least eat so I wouldn't feel ill myself. After all, I needed to be there for her for when she came back home. Anyways, as I finished preparing the meal, I sat down to eat, only to hear something on the tv about a few meteorites hitting earth recently. Now, it was a bit out there, but I immediately thought back to my encounter with the meteorite the week before. Thinking it just coincidence, I went back to my food.
