Read end notes for details.","content":"Reena stirred as the first rays of sunlight peaked over the  \nmountainside, and into her little house. She curled her neck down and lifted  \nher wing slightly to see Chris snuggled up against her belly, still sleeping  \nsoundly. Sighing, she thought back to last night. _I can't believe he did that for me... I wonder what made him do it._\n\nLooking down herself, she noticed a wet patch on the bed  \nwhere her hind legs were. _Oops... was  \nthat me?_ She giggled at the thought of Chris waking up to her, and relished  \nthe feeling of his warm back against her chest.\n\nBringing her forepaws down to his shoulders, she pulled him  \nclose and hugged him. This had the undesired effect of waking him.\n\n\"Mmnn?\" Chris mumbled.\n\n\"Shhhhh... It's still early, so you can rest a little more\"  \nReena reassured him.\n\nChris tilted his head upwards to see her scaly muzzle. She  \ngave him a lick on the nose.\n\nHumming within her chest, she thanked him. \"I really  \nappreciate what you did for me last night Chris, it really helped with my  \nheat.\"\n\nChris chuckled and gave her a pat on the side. \"Don't  \nmention it, but you really need to keep your wing over me if I stay here.\"\n\nAfter a few minutes of lying with him, Reena giggled and  \nstretched, pulling her wing off of him and exposing him to the cold air.\n\n\"Oi, you pesky dragon! What was that for?\" Chris shouted,  \ninstantly woken by the rush of cold air over his body.\n\n\"Well you wanted to be up early so you could feed the  \nhatchlings.\"\n\nRealising she was right, he got up and stretched. Reena  \nwatched him though half closed eyes as he walked over to the corner and filled  \nher water trough. He sat on the couch near the fireplace as he pulled his shoes  \non. Content to sleep for the rest of the morning, Reena bid him farewell and  \ncurled up on her bed, dozing off as she heard her door close.\n\n/////// (Camera pans over to Chris {I'm gonna do this  \nnow [Is this better?]})///////\n\nChris walked briskly back to his house, shivering against  \nthe cold morning air. He opened the door and slipped inside; glad he left his heater  \non last night. Walking into the kitchen, he got some cereal and milk out.  \nPouring both into a bowl, he glanced over at the little bookshelf he had on the  \nwall. He set his breakfast on the table and walked up to the bookshelf.  \nReaching for a book titled \"Dragon lore and myths\" he stopped himself, noticing  \na photo album next to it. He smiled and took that down, setting it on the table  \nand opening it as he began to eat. Glancing though them, he saw pictures of the  \nland they now called home, very bare when it had first been bought. Turning the  \npage, he saw a picture of the first clutch of hatchlings they had received. Reena  \nwas among them, a dull blue colour at this point. Smiling to himself, he turned  \nthe page. He stared at this image for a long while. The image depicted a  \nsomewhat tall, dark haired boy, standing next to a beautiful blue scaled  \ndragon. _This was three years ago..._  \nHe thought to himself. _This was when I  \nfirst started thinking of her as more than a friend._\n\nHalf an hour later... He had finished his breakfast,  \nshowered and changed, and was now heading over to the hatchlings. He walked  \ninto the first pen and let out a low whistle. The little dragon woke suddenly,  \nand dashed over to him.\n\n\"Food!\" it trilled.\n\nChris smiled and rubbed the young dragon on the snout. He  \ngave it a bit of jerky and poured some vegetables into its bowl. The dragon  \nwandered over to them and sniffed. Chris laughed as it pulled its head back and  \nsnarled at them.\n\n\"I know they're not the best tasting food on the planet, but  \nthey are good for you.\"\n\nChris left the little dragon by itself, and went to the next  \npen. Looking up, he saw the smiling face of the little purple dragon hanging  \nupside down from the roof.\n\n\"Get down from there you silly bugger!\" He laughed. \"I'm not  \ngonna help you if you fall.\"\n\nKnowing the dragon was too smart to allow itself to fall, he  \nfilled its bowl and threw the jerky on its bed. He watched as it worked its way  \ndown the wall, using the sharp talons on it wing tips as guides. He gave it a  \npat when it came down, and left it humming to itself as it ate.\n\nHe braced himself as he walked into the next pen, expecting  \nfire everywhere. Much to his surprise, the pen was unsinged. He noted the  \ndragon watching him intently from its bed, and threw the jerky to it. It caught  \nit in its mouth and placed it on the ground, not eating it quite yet.\n\n\"You not hungry little guy?\" Chris asked, suspicious.\n\nThe dragon gave him a grin, and bent over the food, letting  \na gush of flames engulf the meat.\n\nChris instantly reached for the fire extinguisher, ready to  \nput out any accidents.\n\nThe dragon stared at the flaming meat for a second, before declaring  \nit done with a loud warble, and began to eat. Chris wondered at the strange  \ndragon, and left it to its own business.\n\nChris left and got into the Ute, driving out of the farm. He  \nwas planning to get something for Reena, though what he was going to get, he  \nhad no idea...\n\nPost story notes:\n\nWhew, I had no idea writing was so hard... I'm going to have to give DB a rest for now, as its draining at me and I'm staying up till midnight trying to come up with new ideas for it.\n\nFor now, I might do a couple of requests, and start a new story. I'll come back to DB, I promise, I just need some time to think on it.\n\nIf you have a request, please be sure to read my latest jourrnal entry. It will have all the details for what i will and wont write in it.\n\nThank you all for your help and support. It really is wonderful.\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"DragonBlood; My failed first attempt at writing","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/557199-dragonblood-ch3.json"}}
