# Rebellion chapter 1

#1 of Rebellion

Hi everyone, this is an idea that has been kicking around in my head, I'm still writing new chapters for the Crimson Eye Chronicles so don't go panicking on me. I have received permission from Shetland and RAVEN FOX to write this as its set in his universe, again I'm sorry for any spelling and grammar errors and flow problems you may encounter.

_Planet chimera sector 14_

 

"We are under attack repeat we are under  
attack this is not a drill all personnel man your stations" the PA system  
blared over the claxon, all around the base men and women both human and anthro  
scrambled to their action stations. This was it and everyone knew it, the enemy  
known as the Human Imperium had tracked down the once hidden fortress on this  
back water ash world and were preparing to wipe it from existence.

 

"Where are our reinforcements?" General  
Worthington asked as he switched between tactical viewing screens surveying the  
enemy fleet's battle formation and the status of the ships that were preparing  
to evacuate the base, his battle worn face showing an expression of dread as  
well as anger. He was one of the many humans who saw the Imperium's views on  
anthro's to be anything but barbaric and thus left the Imperial Army to join  
the merry band of Rebels he now considered his new family. 

 

"I don't know the enemy are jamming our  
communications, I can't get a signal out" a feline replied from the comms  
station, he was a young King Cheater that looked like he was fresh out of the  
academy but in actual fact he was a fully trained communications specialist and  
a veteran of several engagements.

 

On the screen the General saw a large  
Dreadnought move into the centre of the blockade and register as charging its weapons;  
with lightning speed he backed orders to a gecko who was manning the anti-ship  
guns, with a nod he flew his hands over his computer console and brought up a  
firing solution with the Dreadnought squarely pinned as the primary target. He  
then turned to the general with his finger hovering over the firing button  
licking his eyes periodically; the general gave him a nod and without looking  
let his finger drop. The facility shook as several Ion cannon Batteries fired into  
the sky, on the tactical viewer several markers indicating the volley they  
fired moved toward the enemy a second screen flashed up showing live video feed  
from one of the many communication satellites the rebels had placed in orbit.  
Several blue energy beams streaked toward the blockade and hit home sending  
energy sparks dancing across the Dreadnoughts hull, several smaller cruisers  
and destroyers were also hit and soon were also joining in the light show after  
several seconds the sparks stopped and the ships went dark.

 

"Ok that gives us a window,  
lieutenant start the evacuation, tell them to jump as soon as they are clear"  
Worthington said with a sigh of relief. He had bought the rebels much needed  
time to run the blockade and safely flee the system, but it would not last for  
long.

 

"Yes sir!" a young dragoness barked back and  
began to work her controls, she brought up the main PA interface she then spoke  
into her microphone on her head set "All stations we are beginning the  
evacuation of all non-essential personnel, all fighters stand by to escort your  
transports out of system".

 

_Meanwhile on Earth_

 

Mike sat on the porch watching  
as his best friend Phil packed the Toyota Camry, this had to be done for Mike's  
sake and to make sure his Uncle wouldn't find him until the courts settled the  
matter. But it didn't mean that they couldn't have fun in the process and Phil  
was going to give Mike the best damn holiday ever since his parents died, Phil  
had planned it all out first they would travel to Sydney by car to visit the EB  
games Expo, they would then leave the car with relatives and then fly to the  
Gold Coast for Mikes eighteenth birthday before flying back to Sydney and  
taking the long way back to Adelaide where Mike would move in with them  
permanently. Phil looked over at Mike and noticed he was looking down in the  
dumps again, he had been looking like this ever since the chain of events that  
led him to live with his Uncle, this turned out to be a bad choice as everyone  
soon found out that he had anger management issues that resulted in physical  
abuse and Mike copped a lot.

 

"hay Mike, lighten up will you this is going to be a grand adventure  
for you and your looking like your about to go do something drastic" Phil said  
with a chuckle while placing an extra jerry can into the car.

 

"What, oh yeah sorry just dwelling on the past" Mike replied as he was  
snapped out of his state of deep thought. He got up and walked over to his  
friend before helping him rearrange the other items they were taking with them  
so the jerry can could fit, "It's just hard to shake the memories of being  
beaten, whipped and thrown down a hill into some Boxthorn"

 

"It's ok just keep your head in the right place" Phil said and closed  
the boot; he then pulled out a small check list and ran through it. Satisfied  
that he had everything he then told mike to hop in, Mike did so and with a flip  
of his middle finger to the house he lived in for most of his life the two  
drove down the driveway and set off on their grand adventure.

 

_Planet Chimera_

 

The facility shuddered as another volley of artillery fire hit the now  
frail structure. All around them were pieces of debris and dead bodies of those  
who weren't so lucky but then again it was a miracle the place hadn't collapsed  
crushing everyone inside. The small group of furs and humans worked their way  
as fast as they could through the maze of corridors trying to find a way to the  
few remaining transports left but they seemed to be going around in circles but  
then again everything was going to hell.

 

"Are you sure it's this way Kal? I swear we passed that room before"  
the dragoness said as they walked hurried past a door marked Elevator C, she  
wished that she could have stayed in the Command Centre with General  
Worthington but he was insistent and also stubborn.

 

"Yes I'm sure Galadriana! I know this root like the hairs on the back  
of my hand" the King Cheater said as they moved at a semi jog, they were  
rounding a corner near the Archaeology lab when they ran into the Bases Chief  
Medical officer Dr Harry Stanhope carrying a strange device in a containment  
field.

 

"Oh thank goodness I ran into you people, I thought I was the only one  
left" he look around the group and his expression changed from relief to  
confusion "where's the General? Isn't he with you?"

 

The group just shook their heads with sombre expressions, the short  
silence was broken by another shudder, the P.A. suddenly sounded and the  
Generals voice came through "All personnel still in the base, the enemy has  
broken through, shock troops have entered the lower levels and I'm activating  
the self-destruct if you can make it to any ships still on the ground or not  
destroyed do so now"

 

The group looked at the Doctor and gave him a look, no words were needed  
and he followed suet as the group ran to find the exit. They hadn't gone far  
when a Wolfess came running around the next bend firing periodically back the  
way she came with her twin blaster pistols, her gunfire were immediately  
replied by a flurry of plasma bolts.

 

"Ahhhh don't come this way!!!" she yelled to the group who began to  
run back the way they came the soldiers who we escorting them stayed behind to  
slow the advancing Shock troops down. "I hope you brought energy clips because  
I'm down to my last four".

 

Galadriana tossed her three and pulled her side arm out of its holster  
"Nice to see you Marci, care to enlighten us why you had a shit load of Shock  
troops following you?" she said as they ducked into a side passage.

 

The Wolfess shrugged as she caught the clips "I was on my way to help  
load one of the transports when they poured in like water from an open tap,  
scared the shit out of me when they did and as for the Transport well" she  
paused to clear her throat "it's now a smouldering wreck on the tarmac, thanks  
for the ammo by the way" she smiled at the Dragoness, a dirty thought crept  
into her mind but she pushed it back.

 

"Is there any other way off this base?" harry asked looking franticly  
for a clear passage, his hands trembling as they remained clasped around the  
containment field.

 

"yeah, my ship is in the dry dock, she's fuelled and ready to go"  Marci said laying her golden eyes on the  
small human, she noticed the alien artefact "by the way Doc why are you  
carrying that thing? Think you can sell it for a quick buck hmmm?"

 

"No, I was heading back the med wing when I ran into the team assigned  
to getting it off world they were all dead, what was I supposed to do just  
leave it for the enemy?" Harry spat back knowing very well the nature of the  
comment by the cocky smuggler.

 

"I guess not, we better hurry otherwise we're all dead" Marci said  
before bolting down the corridor, the others ran after her as fast as they  
could through damaged corridors and ransacked rooms till they arrived at the  
dry dock. In the first bay was a freighter which looked like it was built from  
scrap "there she is, my pride and joy the Hornet" she walked up to one of the  
men standing at the hatch and asked where her crew was, the man just shook his  
head telling her that they never made it except for the helmsmen and he was  
slightly hurt from falling debris.

 

With a nod and a pained look she ushered the crew on board and began  
the launch procedure. As the loading ramp retracted to the hatch several men  
came barrelling through from the corridor each were holding heavy weapons, the  
look of fear was on nearly everyone's face as the enemy took up position and  
readied to fire only they never did get a chance as a shudder ripped through  
the facility, like dominos the men outside fell down and were unable to get up.  
A large screech echoed around the large cavern the dry dock was made out of  
followed by several support beams breaking and falling into what sat below,  
after all the dry dock was built inside a volcano.

 

"What's happening?" The harry asked feeling the termers from within  
the ship, he looked like he was about to freak out but was calmed by one of the  
group a vixen who had managed to avoid the shock troops and liked up with them.

 

"It's the base; the reactor is going critical we need to go now!!!"  
Galadriana yelled and made her way to the bridge, she was followed by Marci and  
the others who then split up to cover their designated stations.

 

The moorings holding the ship were released and the ships engines roared to  
life, the ship rose till it was approaching the main hanger doors. As there was  
little or no power to open them there was only one course of action they were  
going to blast them open, everyone turned to the person manning the Hornet's  
weapons arrays with a quick flick of his tongue over his eyes the Gecko who they  
knew as Gecks fired everything they had reducing the doors to molten slag. The  
ship shot forth from the gaping hole and lifted off for the sky reaching escape  
velocity within minutes, the only thing that stood in the way of the escaping  
group was the blockade which was now targeting them however as the enemy  
prepared to fire the base exploded causing the planets' crust and mantle to  
shudder violently, being an ash world it was possible to make the planets' core  
unstable with a powerful reactor melt down and the Rebels knew this.

   
The planet buckled and began to break apart as the Hornet shot passed the enemy  
ships which by now were starting to manoeuvre and escape before the planets'  
destruction, the small multipurpose ship shot passed and managed to get to a  
safe distance just as the planet began to tear itself apart from the forces  
within its core turning the blockade into nothing more than molten slag and  
atoms to all but one that managed to break free well before the planet went  
nuclear. The Cruiser turned slowly to face the escaping ship and locked onto  
its engine signature just as it engaged its hyper drive disappearing in a flash  
of light, the Cruiser followed in hot pursuit spinning up its faster than light  
drive and jumping to hyperspace not knowing where they were headed or what they  
would encounter.
