{"sf1_id":592186,"sf2_id":null,"title":"The Housepet Games: Chapter Four","author":"ThisAdamGuy","words":407,"posted_at":"2013-09-19T03:30:00.000Z","tags":["Action","Adventure","Fanfiction","Humor","Hunger Games","housepets","psychic","webcomic"],"url":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/592186-the-housepet-games-chapter-four","original_url":"https://sofurry.com/view/592186","image_url":"https://www.sofurryfiles.com/std/thumb?page=592186\u0026ext=.jpg","description":"","content":"\nChapter Four\n \nBino crept through the forest, his paws silent against the\ndense undergrowth.  He hadn't been able\nto pass police academy with Fido, but he'd still come away with a few useful\nskills.  He held his bow at the ready in\none paw, his other paw hovering over his shoulder, ready to draw an arrow at a\nmoment's notice.\nHe grinned with sadistic pleasure.  Those idiots had no idea who they were\ndealing with.  They might as well just\ngive up now.\nA faint noise came from the distance.  Bino froze, cocking his head to the\nside.  Pawsteps, and they were coming in\nhis general direction.  They belonged to\na small dog, too, if he was right.  So,\nit was either King or Peanut's freaky girlfriend.  Frankly, he didn't care which.  Killing either of them would be fun.\nBino skillfully drew and arrow an knocked it before\nstealthily making his way towards the noise. \nEvery few steps, he paused and listened to judge the other dog's\nposition.  Finally, put his back to a\nnearby tree and peeked his head around.\nThe Pomeranian came into view, not even thirty feet\naway.  She was unarmed.  Probably because she was too scared to take\nanything from the big cone.  And best of\nall, she was completely unaware of his presence.  He didn't move, though.  He was savoring the moment.\nA cry came from the distance, and Tarot's ears perked\nup.  She turned to face the direction the\nsound had come from, effectively putting her back to Bino.  Bino grinned, knowing his moment had come.  He spun around, coming out from behind the\ntree, and pulled the arrow back in his bow. \nTarot heard him and turned just in time to see him release the arrow.  It shot through the air with a high pitched\nwhistle before striking the little dog square in the chest.  With a gasp of fright, if not some pain,\nTarot staggered back a few steps before falling to the ground.\n\"Ha, gotcha you stupid little runt!\" Bino cackled, doing an\nimpromptu jig of victory.\nThen, before his eyes, Tarot's body dissipated into a cloud\nof smoke, leaving nothing behind.  Bino\nblinked in surprise.  In the distance, a\nloud boom rang out, and Tarot's face appeared in the sky, the word \"Deceased\"\nunderneath it.  Bino grinned and clenched\nhis fist in eager anticipation of meeting the other players.\nThis game was as good as his!"}
